Brilliance Intense Permanent Hair Colour Reviews

i used this product on my week old bleached hair. It turned it a red/orangy tinge, but it does warn on the box not to use with bleached hair. Other then that it does give good coverage and the results are very bright, Id recommend 2 boxes for longer hair. Now that the new foam dyes are out i dont think these older style dyes cut the job anymore. I dont like how you still have to apply the product which is really liquidy.

I chose the brand Schwarzkopf Brilliance to buy in the way of home hair dyes because of the colour, Violet Vision. I wanted my hair to have a purple hue colour to it. This Brilliance dye was perfect because it was a permanent colour, was specifically formulated for dark hair and your hair still had a nice healthy shine to it, (covers a few greys as well).
The instructions were easy to follow and the box contained the items I needed to dye my hair, gloves, conditioner, developer and colour tube. Before using the dye I always put a bit of moisturiser around my forehead to protect my face hair. After mixing the developer and colour I applied to my dry hair, massaged in and left it for 30 minutes, rinsed it out until the water ran clear, towel dried hair and used half of the conditioner supplied, massaged in and left it in my hair for 2 minutes before rinsing, allowing the water to run clear. There is enough conditioner to last 2 washes. This product does contain ammonium hydroxide and has a strong chemical smell when used. I have used Schwarzkopf hair dyes before and they are safe for me to use. If you have sensitive skin I would recommend you do the allergy test before using this product to be on the safe side.
I love my new hair colour, Violet Vision, I am very pleased with Schwarzkopf Brilliance, excellent dye job.

I bought a red shade from Coles hoping I could dye my hair at home to save a bit of money, I have a bob cut and one packet was just enough, perhaps because I have thick hair. The color didnt come out very well, it was more of a dark brown with a red tinge to it. I considered buying another packet and dying it again but I chose to go to a salon. If you have dark hair, do go to a salon ! They bleached my hair first then put the color through it but I love it. It did set me back $150 compared to the $15 I paid for this dye. It's better going to a professional rather than paying that extra $15 for something that doesn't work on your hair. I can only say this if you are trying to go red with dark hair, I cannot give you info about the outcome on lighter hair or if you want to go a shade lighter.

I use Blue Black on my naturally dark brown hair. Out of all the other dyes I've tried, all in this shade, SB leaves my hair the shiniest and softest and the colour lasts the longest. That said, the 'blue' in blue black becomes less vibrant quite quickly.
Application is the standard messy and smelly process but the results are great.

So easy to use, the colour comes out perfectly and was exactly what I needed after having dyed my hair reddy purple for 10+ years. I would say the only down fall would be that there isn't quite enough to go around my hair where as all the others I have used have more than sufficient amounts.

Big tip= don't use on your blonde unless you're trying for a brilliant ORANGE! I stupidly tried to skimp on hairdresser visits with this, much to my hairdresser's chagrin when I ran to the salon crying with bright orange hair!

I have tried the shade in Red Violet. I have the darkest black hair so I didn't expect this to be extremely intense, I was after a subtle colour change. It did exactly that. It was unnoticeable in the dark/at night but extremely bright and vibrant in the sun. It been about 3 months and the colour has fade to a natural dark brown/red. I guess I am partly at fault for that as I didn't use special treatments/shampoos. But I didn't mind, in fact I bought another Brilliance Colour to try out soon.
