Hair colour conundrums: they’ll make you go mad

I am one of those people that has never been truly happy with my hair colour. Sure, I’ll follow a hair trend or two (my brush with balayage being a prime example) – and I know that I’d rather mimic Gaga’s worst hair look than go back to my natural mousy brown shade – but I’ve never had a hair hue I’ve loved.

I’m talking true love, the buy-every-packet-on-the-shelf-incase-they-decide-to-discontinue-it kind of love. It just hasn’t happened, and even after all my hue hopping, I’m still a little bit scared to shake things up when it comes to my strands.

Like right now, I’m still sporting a balayage tinge in my lower lengths, but the golden blonde gets brassy quickly, and I’m not as religious with my toning as I should be – you all know what a lazy locks I am!
Recently, I’ve been thinking of resorting back to my old friend, L’Oreal Paris Casting Crème Gloss in Mahogany. It was quick, easy, inexpensive, and even smells great. I loved the deep red/purpley hue I ended up with, and the ease associated with just one colour. It’s a decision that I’m constantly wrestling with – do you know how long it took me (and my tired hairdresser), to get my dark locks to a golden blonde? Answer: a long time! So going dark again and wasting all that time spent in the salon chair would be wrong… wouldn’t it? And so, the hair colour battle continues…

What do you think beauties? Keep rockin’ the balayage or go with just one shade?
