Easy gym hairstyles for long hair

Today I’m going to show you different ways of styling your hair for the gym. I've been going to the gym for four years now and I've had my fair share of bad hair days there. Instead of avoiding the gym, try re-thinking how you can use your accessories and the way you style your hair to motivate you to go.
These hairstyles are quite versatile, whether you are going to the gym or for a jog; they are quick and easy to do.
The braid
Braids are seriously fuss-free and instantly tighten your ponytail. They also prevent annoying, sweaty hair from sticking to your neck as you work out.
The messy bun
I love buns for special occasions but buns are also great for working out, too (especially the messy kind). The best way to achieve this look is to flip your head over and tie it into a high ponytail. Braid the ponytail, twist it into a bun and secure it with bobby pins.
The 3-section ponytail
This ponytail is stylish and very sleek and won’t distract you by swaying from side to side. Simply part your hair at your crown of your head horizontally and secure it with an elastic, then part your hair just below the middle of the back of your head horizontally and secure with an elastic. Finally, scoop all of your hair into an elastic at the nape of your neck to finish.
The headband
A headband can dress up any plain hairstyle and it's quite a fun accessory. The headband serves two purposes. 1) it makes me look more athletic than I am and 2) it stops my fringe from getting in the way.
I hope you all enjoyed this post; how you style your hair for the gym?

Interesting ideas, I had recently been thinking about this problem, because my hair is now at a length where if I tie it in a high to mid way pontytail the end of the ponytail would tickle and irritate the back of my neck.

a bun all the way- pilled up and out of the way... dont like long ponytails or long plaits cause it sticks to the back of the neck when sweating lol

I honestly don't think you need to style anything to go to the gym. You're there to work out and not putting in enough effort if you're not sweaty and red in the face.

Two little piggy tails for me. I have short hair but long strands (not graded much) so piggy's and a sweat band to catch the whispy bits.

I don't go to the gym but I'll probably just tie my hair back into a high pony tail - nothing fancy for me.

I have a treadmill bought second hand at home. Doesn't get used too much but on occasion I get the urge to get fit. Ponly tail or just clipped back; so long as hair doesn't stick to my face.

I go for the pony, but should do the plait more often to protect my shocking ends!

Great post! There is NOTHING worse than being on the threadmill and your hair coming undone.
Always happens to me when I tie a bun :(

Buns always seem to fall out for me and my hair is long so a ponytail drops and sticks to my neck (plus when skipping it hits the rope!) so I like to plait my hair.

I love the braid. I am sorry to admit that I haven't been to the gym in years, but I really need to get back into it.
