It’s no secret we’re big fans of Eva Longoria. Whether she’s sharing her trampoline workout or covering her greys, we snap to attention every time she has beauty wisdom to share. And now she’s making a case for winged eyeliner, ponytails, and smokey eyes with her stunning red carpet appearances at the Cannes Film Festival.
Yes, we wish were in the French Riveria too. But sadly, we’ll simply be watching from afar as celebrities don their finest gowns and put their glam teams to work.
And while the stunning floor-length dresses Eva has worn are certainly show-stoppers, what we really want to talk about is her incredible hair and makeup.
We’re only on day three and so far we want to recreate them all…
Eva Longoria’s Cannes beauty lookbook
Beauty Look #1
On the first night, Eva gave a masterclass on how to dress up a ponytail. By adding in some soft waves, her glam team was able to create a faux curtain fringe to frame her face as well as texture and movement in the ends.
But the real key to her hair looking so great? The added height at the crown. Whether as a result of teasing, a mastery blow-dry, or both, this added elevation is what took a regular ponytail and turned it red carpet-worthy.
And of course, we’re just as stoked to see a classic winged eyeliner back in the spotlight. bh recommends: L’Oréal Paris Flash Cat Eye by Superliner ($13.97 at Chemist Warehouse) and essence easy brush liner ($6 at Priceline).
Beauty Look #2
For night two, Eva brought us two classics: a half-up half-down hairstyle and a smokey eye. Both scored 10/10.
Again, the key to the hair was height in the right place. Only this time it wasn’t under-cover volume, but the anchor point of the half-up pony that provided it. The rest of the hair could then be kept smooth and sleek (the work of a L’Oréal Elnett Hairspray one would assume).
Eyeliner also made a back-to-back appearance. Only this time, the crisp wing was swapped for smoked-out edges, paired with brown eyeshadow for added softness.
We don’t know about you, but we’re excited to see what night three brings…
Do you think Eva’s nailed her Cannes beauty looks? Which of the two is your favourite?
