The best celebrity hair makeovers of 2020 (so far)

For an office full of beauty obsessives, a dramatic hair transformation is almost  as exciting as cake in the kitchen.

bh HQ loves nothing more than a dramatic long-to-pixie chop, blonde to brunette  colour change, or even better yet, when a celebrity discovers a fringe totally suits them

2020 is already off to a flying start, with mullets appearing as the cut of choice among the celebrity crowd.

Bella Hadid

You know all the memes telling you not to cut yourself a fringe in isolation no matter how bored you are? Apparently Bella Hadid didn’t see them. The good news? She’s 1000 per cent pulling it off, and looks like the high school heroine from your fave 90s teen movie.

Hilary Duff

Hilary traded her signature blonde for a vibrant bright blue hue, and we are into it. As for the colourist behind the in-quarantine colour? Her husband, Matthew Koma, who revealed his hidden talent during an Instagram Live, telling Hilary’s followers “I also dyed her hair, I do a lot of stuff around the house.” Honestly, the hubby-hair colourist combo is the dream – well played, Hils.

Selena Gomez

Selena has traded in her sleek dark ‘do for the cut of the season: the shag. With loads of texture, a choppy fringe and babylights framing her face, it’s less ‘polished’ and more ‘model off duty’.

Olivia Colman

Olivia Colman debuted her new platinum pixie on the Oscars red carpet, where we immediately awarded it ‘best blonde moment’ for the year. Question is, will she keep it?

Miley Cyrus

Following in the footsteps of her country crooner father, Billy Ray, Miley debuted her new mullet on Instagram early this year with the caption ‘New hair. New year. NEW MUSIC.’ Unsure if anything will ever beat ‘Slide Away’ OR this lewk, but we’ll wait and see what else 2020 has in store for Ms Cyrus.

Barbie Ferreira

We just need one more and it’s officially a trend… Barbie Ferreira (from HBOs Euphoria) has also opted for a ‘business at the front, party at the back’ style to set the tone for the new year. Yee-ha.

Jada Pinkett-Smith

It can be hard to keep up with the fresh ‘dos of the Smith family, but Jada’s latest braid-to-pixie makeover certainly stopped us mid-scroll. Proof that curls can go the crop if you were unsure, too.

Are you considering a hair transformation this year? What kind of look would you love to go for?
