clairol herbal essences

how good is the brand clairol herbal essences? i am nervous about trying it because i have heard a bad review from a friend. i have very frizzy hair so i would use the anti frizz one (called none of your frizziness). is it a good brand?

I don`t like it either, though I`d have to admit nothing smells better, but it sort does something to my scalp and makes it irritated. I had someone tell me its because of the stuff they use to make the fragrance. Perhaps I`m extra sensitive? I prefer Garnier Nutriesse personally

I never liked Herbal Essences. I dont particularly like supermarket hair care in general – like Elmo said earlier, you get product build up and it weighs your hair down. Salon products occasionally do have silicon but they are higher grade, designed to wash out and not leave a residue.

I don`t use none of your frizzness, I use hello hydration, but I don`t think it`s as bad as half the people here are saying. 🙂 Like beautymax says, it smells divine! And my hair seems more glossy nowadays.

Personally I really dislike this product. It makes my hair feel awful. Not my taste at all.

Silicone is used in pretty much all anti frizz products (its what smooths it), and yes you do get build up – but like Elmo said – clarifying shampoo is needed too.

To be honest, like with most things, you get what you paid for. The majority of the supermarket brands use silicone in their products to make the hair smooth and silky, and it works by putting a coating on your hair to make it feel that way. However in reality it`s not really doing anything great for your hair as it is not actually penetrating the hair, and you`ll find you get a lot of build up on your hair because of it. It`s even more important if you colour your hair to use better products, as the coating of silicone from the cheap stuff can actually hamper the colouring (it happened to me), as the colour can come out uneven as it can`t get through the coating of silicone. But if you don`t colour your hair I don`t really see the harm – other than the build up factor but I guess if you use a clarifying shampoo regularly that would fix it?

Personally I don`t like it. I have used None of Your Frizzness too. You`d be better off and paying a little more and getting the John Frieda `Curl Around`, if find that better. And get a decent serum too – they really help.
