Bec & Bridge: white hot

Bec & Bridge: white hot

More often than not, it’s rather difficult to look as polished and perfected as the models that grace the runways. I mean, it doesn’t help that they have an entire team of people working on them to achieve the kind of sparkly brilliance that makes the rest of us squint while we watch.

Last night at the Bec & Bridge show, I got to see the seriously chic result of KMS California Hair Director, Wayne Chappell’s work – and boy was it worth the wait.
Chappell wanted to work with the smouldering ‘Smoke without Fire’ theme of the collection, and kept things a bit dishevelled with a salty, textured, seriously stylish ponytail. He then let me in on a little insider secret – to keep in with the theme of the show, the model’s hair was to be loaded up with baby powder right before they stepped onto the catwalk, so they left a dusty smoke-like trail behind them as they walked. Cool eh?

Here, Chappell runs us through his how-to:

1.    Prep your hair with KMS HairStay Style Boost, working it through the roots and mid-lengths of your locks.
2.    Use your fingers and a hairdryer to loosely dry your hair and to allow the product to set.
3.    Apply KMS HairPlay Sea Salt Spray to your mid-lengths and ends, and blast again with a hairdryer.
4.    Once your hair is dry, spritz some more sea salt spray all over your tresses and work your fingers through your hair to create soft, textured waves.
5.    Next, pull the top, front section of your hair forward and sweep the remaining hair up in to a centre ponytail.
6.    Mist the roots and mid-lengths of that top, front section of your hair with KMS HairPlay Make Over Spray, and gently backcomb to create texture.
7.    Once your desired texture is achieved, pull the loose section back to meet the rest of your hair, and create one ponytail.
8.    To finish, lightly finger tease your ponytail, and give your ‘do a generous spritz of KMS HairPlay Make Over Spray.

What do you think of the dishevelled look for Bec & Bridge?
