Desk delights

Desk delights

Since the bh offices have recently had an elegant makeover, I’ve been extremely conscious of keeping my desk in showoff-worthy shape. Papers organised, invitations opened and accepted, business cards stacked, media releases filed on arrival, you get the picture. Well, most of the time anyway.

It’s not perfect, but I’m getting there. Most importantly, it’s my goal to fill a drawer with the very best collection of desk-to-dinner beauty essentials a high-maintenance girl could ever wish for. It’s a challenge, but I think I’m up to it.

So, among the early starters are RoC Alcohol Free Cleansing Wipes. These little beauties are just waiting to wipe away the day whenever I need to freshen up before a cocktail event. And rolling around next to them is a mini can of VO5 Extra Firm Hairspray for pumping up the volume when my waves look limp.

There’s also a little compact mirror for sneaky mascara applications and Creative Nail Design Nail Gloss to give my digits a shiny finish in a flash. Also lurking is a genius hair tong: Remington Curls Curls Curls which has a choice of barrels in three widths. FYI, 50 mm equals big, fat curls that drop into lovely loose waves. And guess what? I’m using it to tong random sections as I type this. Truly, it’s that easy.

Hmmm, what’s next. Oh, YSL Perfect Touch Radiant Brush Foundation. I’m not a big fan of totally re-doing my make-up at the end of the day, but if I’m going to, it had better be quick. That’s where this one comes in. The built-in brush makes me faster than The Stig on Top Gear (yes, it’s a bit of an embarrassing obsession).

There’s plenty more of course. But in an office where someone asking for the scissors could mean there’s an impromptu fringe trim about to occur, you’d expect that wouldn’t you? This is beautyheaven after all.
