What To Buy: June Edition

If like me you also have a birthday in June, let me just say a Happy Birthday to you! This month is your perfect excuse to keep on celebrating in style – and boy, do we have some beautiful gifts for you.

Along with cake, champagne and cheer, make sure you spoil yourself a little extra this month. June babies, here are seven ways to pamper yourself silly and keep those birthday celebrations rollin’.

Bondi Sands Self Tan Eraser

Tanaholics, you’re going to looove this latest creation from Bondi Sands. If you hate the process of having to remove stubborn, old, patchy remnants of self tan with a tough washcloth (who doesn’t?), this self tan remover is about to become your instant Holy Grail. The easy-to-apply foam works in just 5 minutes without the need for harsh scrubbing and it’s gentle enough to use on your face and body. Simply apply it to dry skin, leave for 5 minutes, then use a wet cloth to wipe away your tan, leaving you free to reapply a fresh layer of sun-kissed skin. Pretty clever, no?

Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream

My biggest bugbear in winter? Bumpy skin. Only this year, I’m determined to beat the beast before the damage is done. While I’m reluctant to give up my hot showers (can you blame me?), I’m aware that my actions put me at risk of rough, dry skin. So to counteract this guilty pleasure, I’m using this exfoliating cream on the reg. The product is deliciously creamy, and clings to my skin making it easy to massage (unlike sugar scrubs) into my trouble areas like the backs of my arms and legs. The product really feels like it’s really getting to work on renewing my skin, without being too rough or harsh. So far, my skin is feeling much softer and less bumpy than it has in previous winters. Hey, it’s a win for me.

Garnier Hydra Bomb Ultra Hydrating Rejuvenating Tissue Mask

I hate to sound like a broken record, but I really have it in for my dull-looking skin, and I’m prepared to try everything out there known to man to fix it (seriously, just try and stop me). My latest find hails from the innovative beauty country of South Korea – the tissue mask. Aside from being incredibly hydrating, this tissue mask from Garnier is loaded with hyaluronic acid and pomegranate that’s supposed to boost and brighten my skin, and is an absolute cinch to use. Could this be the cure I’ve been looking for?

Byredo Gypsy Water Kabuki Perfume

$69, mecca.com.au (available now)

The days of spritzing a cloud of perfume into the air could soon be a thing of the past, thanks to the latest perfume creation by my much loved fragrance house, Byredo. Rather than spraying liquid into the air, these new Kabuki perfumes dust a transparent powder onto your skin. Sweep it over your wrist, neck or any other pulse point for a delicately perfume powder that’s so good, you’ll want to bathe in it. Keep one in your clutch or desk drawer for all day touch ups.  My pick of the three: Gypsy Water. As an already huge fan of the scent, the powder form blends with my skin in a way that’s highly addictive. The downside? At $69 a pop, I have to admit they’re pricey. But hey, it’s my birthday, and I’ll splurge if I want to.

Salt by Hendrix Luxe Oil – Jasmine + Marula

$34.95, saltbyhendrix.com (available now)

Besides looking beautiful with real florals floating around in the formula, this nourishing body oil from organic and vegan Australian brand Salt by Hendrix smells simply heavenly.  A few drops rubbed into my skin feels incredibly luxurious yet lightweight (especially after exfoliating). Best of all, it leaves my limbs glistening. When I’m feeling extra indulgent, I’ll add a few drops to my bath for an extra hit of hydration.

Too Faced Natural Love Eyeshadow Collection

$85, mecca.com.au (available now)

This month, I wasted very little time on getting my hands on one of the most highly anticipated launches of the year. This 30 pan shadow palette is loaded with every single on-trend shade you could ever want (not kidding). Featuring every nude a gal could ever need, plus some old favourites and brand new exclusives, this palette is a mixture of cutting-edge matte as well as shimmer and sparkle finishes. Equip yourself with this bad boy, pronto. You won’t be sorry you did.

Oral-B Pink Edition PRO 500

A bright smile can make me feel like a million bucks, and now that I’m getting older, I’m particularly committed to ensuring my pearly whites stay nice and well, pearly. Due to a recent recommendation from my dentist, I’ve ditched the manual toothbrush in favour of an electric one. Thanks to the small bristled head, the PRO 500 is surperb at dislodging and sweeping those hard to reach places, plus there’s an inbuilt timer that vibrates at 30 second intervals, which alerts me to the fact that it’s time to move to another section of my mouth. Oh, and did I mention it’s pink?

What’s on your wish-list this month?
