Chanel No. 5

Chanel No. 5

Since its creation in 1921, Chanel N°5 has been the best-selling and most renown fragrance in the world, with over 30 films being dedicated to it. Chanel uses a director and actress who have had a previous film relationship to create something very powerful and so, in this latest instalment, Jean-Pierre Jeunet directs his muse, Audrey Tautou.

It’s the story of a brief, sensual encounter between a man and a woman who meet on a night train. They brush past each other, are attracted to each other, hesitate …but Chanel N°5 is irresistible.

The idea began with a request from Chanel that the short film arouse emotions, send shivers down the spine, and create mystery. Jeunet asked Chanel to pick scenes from his films that had caught their attention. Among them was one from A Very Long Engagement in which Tautou stars, that plays on the use of light, thus making a night train the perfect setting.

Shot between May and June last year at Limoges and Nice railway stations, as a special treat for beautyheaven members, Chanel has given us access to behind-the-scenes footage of the film. You’ll also be able to catch the full film at www.chaneln5.com.
