5 scents that’ll make you feel like you’re on holiday

It’s quite a skill to sum up an entire season in one bottle, but some perfumes are just that. Think freshly cut grass, Reef tanning oil, the intoxicating taste of mangoes and salty-sea breezes, mixed with a blend of white blossoms and juicy citrus fruits. These are what give perfumes the irresistible scent of warm, sun-soaked skin.

Are you daydreaming yet? After smelling these, you will be. Here are five scents that squash long, hot summers and adventurous holidays into a glass bottle.

My Burberry Festive Collection, 50mL, $150

Forget the advent calendar – this will have you counting down the days till Christmas. With the same scent of My Burberry EDT, this floral fragrance captures the essence of a spring blossom garden and the freshness of London after the rain. And if the scent wasn’t enough, the Festive Collection features gold glitter that sparkles, leaving a soft trace of shimmer on your skin.

Jil Sander, Sun Bath Summer Escape

Like sea spray on warm and sun-drenched skin, this thrilling fusion of warm and cool notes, topped with vivid aquatic accords of pink pepper and freesia smells like your next European seaside getaway.

By Calypso St. Barth Casablanca, 30mL $55

If the thought of an exotic experience is more your thing, then get a whiff of Casablanca. Spicy and exotic, this scent is inspired by desert evenings and smoky souks. With the addictive blend of coconut, violet and sandalwood, it’s soft and feminine, but with a bohemian, romantic edge. Perfect for those who crave a bit of wanderlust, this will allure and inspire passion, adventure and luxury.

Tom Ford Neroli Portofino, 100ml, $410

This scent will instantly transport you to the cool breezes, sparkling clear water and lush foliage of the Italian Riviera. Bursting with crisp citrus oils, surprising floral notes and amber undertones, this scent will leave one hell of an impression.

Clarins Eau Ensoleillante Sunshine Fragrance, 100mL, $55

Believe it or not, this scent was created because customers of the brand desired to have a scent that smelt like their signature sunscreen. Made for hot summer days, this fragrance is a bouquet of grapefruit, bergamot, patchouli and watermelon, so spritz all over for that endless summer feeling.

  1. Can we just ban tassels on perfume bottles. So tacky. Delina by marley pink one…eek, marc jacobs green one (decadence?)…eek…shame. As I do not buy perfume even when it smells divine if the bottle is yuck looking.
