Hi, I’m new, kindof.

Hey everyone,
I’m Courtenay, I used to have a profile but it seems to have vamooshed into cyberspace, so here is my new one. I’m interested in finding inexpensive beauty products designed for sensitive skin and are opthamologically tested/friendly due to some annoying eye issues.

Thanks Trish_D, I’ll have a look into it. I’ve recently found Aveeno to be really good, my skin tends to get really really dry almost instantly if I am anywhere with no humidity, I found a sample of the daily ’24hr moisture’ stuff in a magazine I’d taken with me, my skin didn’t dry out or spilt. Once I’ve run out of what I’m currently using I’ll probably grab a bit of their wash to try too.

Hallo again, Courtenay. I use Alpha Keri wash – dry skin care in the shower and have for years without any reaction. It comes in liquid and as soap and the liquid is really economical. It’s a soap free wash, dermatologically tested. It DOES have SLS and other weird sounding things. I first started using it on chemist advice. It’s been the only one I’ve been able to use consistently except the Clinique facial soap which works out super expensive when used all over your body!
Have a great trip to Melbourne.

    Thanks everyone! (:

Those links are great Evanescencessy, it actually hadn’t occured to me to actually search for it!!

Trish_D, It does make sense. I have all sorts of issues, but none of them make sense in relation to eachother, I can use some products, but not others. Like I’ve suddenly developed a sensitivity to soap, I can’t used bar or liquid soap, I’ve had to find ‘soap-free’ products to use. Goats milk soap from the little old lady at the markets is pretty amazing! I thought it make have been SLS, but I can still use my shampoo that contains SLS with no problems. I don’t have many options for different brands where I live anymore, Priceline no longer exists here and they had the biggest range. I’m off to Melbourne tomorrow, hopefully I can find some nice things there.
I have found any moisturiser with SPF30+ makes my face burn, do you have any problems like that? I tend to just keep out of the sun, but living in the tropics that is almost impossible.

    Thanks again,
    Courtenay.

Hi, Courtenay – I too have very sensitive skin, often the perfumes set me off far more than the product so I tend to stay with unperfumed or very little perfume. Even the unperfumed products can have a smell I can’t cope with because of the natural ingredients having their own perfume (hope that makes sense!) I haven’t ever had a reaction to Innoxa, Blooms are excellent and reasonably priced as are Natio. I’ve used many of the Natio products BUT had a violent reaction to their newish mineral primer even though I have used the other primer for ages.
I can use Clinique, Clarins and Innoxa eye shadows BUT I simply cannot use any eye shadow on a daily basis unfortunately. There was a period when I couldn’t use eye shadow at all.
Hope this helps and welcome back.
