Be wary of Living Social Deals

Being new to Beauty Heaven, I’m still learning about what looks like spam. Recently I clicked on information for Michael Todd Organics and I was connected to a http://www.livingsocial.com/deals offer. In two days I’ve received 12 emails offering all sorts of products. Please do not click on a similar link if you don’t want to receive a daily supply of these offers. I have just unsubscribed, even though some of the deals look okay.

I agree – I bought a couple of deals from when they first started, and it was appalling. Incredibly difficult to get your money back, too, even if goods aren’t delivered. Put me right off using any of these sites.

I use the Australian living social site and have neither been spammed or duped. Im sorry for those who have. Mind you i have seperate email addresses to sign up for things so my personal email is not used

Huiwen86, I think it must be a US website because Michael Todd Organics is American. It sounds like the Australian version of livingsocial is not so intrusive.

I’ve just seen someone in Beauty Heaven has posted another link to Michael Todd Organics. I was very curious and read this person’s comments on various threads, which are links to various products and there’s lots of information about home remedies; especially acne. Then I saw some other posters who seem to be posting similar information and/or asking similar questions (the language seems similar). I hope that I am wrong, but I’m guessing that there is one spammer under the guise of several names.

Hi Huiwen86, yes I did enter my email address (I should know better!) as the website wouldn’t let me see the information on the enticing deal unless I did so. The offer was for an organic skin care line from the US that I’d heard about was great, and the offer was a substantial saving, so of course I couldn’t resist looking. I don’t have a problem with receiving occasional emails of offers, it was more the frequency of them – six a day was too much.

As far as offers for hotels, I now check reviews through the Trip Advisor website.

Yes i agree with you Petal, i bought a facial through Living Socials $65 dollar deal, i swear i was in their for 30 mins and out when it specifically said an hour worth, plus they left out what i was meant to be done, sure enough i made a complaint and after two weeks of complaints got my money back, i have heard others complain also about things they purchased off the site, my sister and her hubby bought a two night stay at a hotel, it described the hotel to be clean, and all the nice things you except a romantic weekend to be, lets just say they lasted four hours, i wont describe what they found the hotel to be like.
