My partner got a copy of his prescription from the optometrist when he went to get his eyes tested and then tried on a bunch of frames at an OPSM store, he noted down the model number of the frames he liked and then went online at https://www.shadestation.co.uk where he found the exact same frames, entered in his prescription details and ended up saving over 50%.
The site also allows you to select the type of lenses you want (e.g. thin, super thin) and offer free shipping too.
I would only recommend buying glasses online if you`re able to try on the actual frames in real life so you can get a feel for the frames and make sure they fit your face and nose. -

If you are intending to claim from your health insurance, make sure that the place you get your glasses or contacts from are registered with your fund, and they have a provider number. If they aren`t, you won`t be able to claim. I used to work for a health fund, and lots of people used to get caught out by this.

I`ve just made my first order through Clearly Contacts for glasses and I am really pleased with their service so far.
I had been receiving contradicting information from various customers service officers and had been trying to place an order last month with them until I lost confidence in them. Then I was contacted by one particular customer service officer who apologised for my experience and now I deal directly with her. She honored the offer that Clearly Contacts had last month with regard to 50% Off Frames + Free Shipping and gave me a Freecall Number for them to make ordering with them easier.
For those who aren`t aware, Clearly Contacts Freecall Australian Number is 1800-639-478.
I will let all know how I go with my new frames when I get them 🙂 as I have never ordered glasses on-line before.
