Your most radical hair colour change?

I’ve just changed my auburn hair to medium brown –
this is pretty wild for me! I’ve also gone to silvery blonde.
Both looks have made me look ill (in my opinion)
because they may be too different to my norm appearance?

Anyway, what’s the most far-out colour you’ve tried, and what did you think?

I have naturally black hair. I have been blonde, to red, to strawberry blonde, to black again to black with red/blue/purple/teal/pink streaks to black with 3 inches around the bottom bright pink, back to black and now I`m blonde again.

You would think by now my hair would have fallen out, but it`s surprisingly really healthy!

Thanks Redlox – actually the hairdresser seemed more interested in looking at her new spray tan in the mirror, she kept commenting on how much she loved it. I think she did feel a bit bad, because I was so upset, but I got the feeling it was more because she was worried about getting in trouble with the manager. Now I have a lovely hairdresser, and I have full confidence in her ability to care for my hair. I learned an important lesson – always look at the hair of your hairdresser. If they look like a feral cat that`s been dragged backwards through a mower, there`s a good chance that your hair may look like that too….

Wow, these are great stories! bluerose, I`m glad your hair is fine again now, hope you never had that particular hairdresser again – although they must have felt terrible for the result?

I`m naturally dark brown, and have been every colour from white to black (at one stage when I was 14 I had white, orange, red and a tinge of green streaks thanks to a bargain highlighter kit my mum bought LOL)…. I have gone from brown to light blonde (half head of foils)…. never straying that fair from brown again!

Girl789, I ran with copper for a few months, with blondish foil scattered throughout (I spent about 9 hours at the hairdresser in total trying to have it fixed) and a few months later I went totally blonde. That was four and a half years ago. I kept the blonde for about 18 months, and then gradually went darker, now I have brunette hair with highlights and lowlights. It took many months to go dark again, as my hair was so stripped and porus it wouldn`t hold colour for long. If you do decide to go blonde, do it gradually, start adding blonde foils to your hair each visit to the salon, and eventually you`ll end up with an amount of blonde you are happy with.

oh dear…. fluro orange. Not a good look. Did you end up getting it fixed and go to a proper blonde or did you go back to brunette? I have always wanted to try out blonde but I`m too scared for exactly this reason! lol

Dark brown to blonde in one go, however it didn`t work, so it was more like dark brown to fluro orange in one go. Many tears were shed. (By the way, I didn`t do this by myself at home, it was a hairdresser who stuffed up my hair).

I usually have a dark brown (almost black) semi, and occasionally with blonde or caramel foils underneath. My most radical colour change was when I told my hairdresser I wanted something different and let her decide. I had pink and blonde foils… it was a bit different and I wouldn`t do it again. I couldn`t wear green clothes for months without looking ridiculous!
