Whats the difference?

Hey girls,

I don’t want to sound dumb but… what’s the difference between lotion and moisturiser? I got a body lotion today and I already have a moisturiser… don’t they both just moisten your skin and make it smooth and soft?

Thanks, xx

you guys all have it right – lotions are more of a liquid & do moisturise as well as the thicker moisturiser creams the only dif is more often than no they are not dedicated moistirisers.

lotions tend to be for other purposes – they are often for specific purpose – eg scented, tanning, firming, etc. moistirisation tends to come built in but is not their sole purpose.

I don’t know if the is the official definition but it’s what i’ve found in my experiences using them.

Same thing – just different name. I would say a lotion is lighter consistency than a cream – but they’re both moisturisers – make sense?

  • I have no clue.
I thought they were the exact thing…

They do the same, I think the difference is consistency. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure lotion is not as “thick” as moisturiser.
