what you pay for is what you get

trying to save money today i went to a small salon thats not very fancy instead of my usual one. I got a full head of foils and a haircut, when i got home i noticed my hair isnt cut straight :(. and the foils didnt turn out like i wanted.

anyone else been dissapointed with the way there hair turned out after going to a different salon?

Bleach and peroxide are damaging to the hair so if you colour your hair blonde you will be more prone to split ends etc.

is it just me or does anyone else find blonde hair makes more split ends.
ive never noticed split ends in my hair before and now that ive got these blonde foils i can see a few lol i think i need a haircut although my last one was less then 3 weeks ago

I am due to get my cut colour and half head foils b4 christmas and I can find anyone cheaper than $170. I am getting a bit tired of paying this crazy amount! Anyone know a place in the Castle Hill NSW area that can beat this price and do a good job?

I used to go to one of the most expensive salons in my area and they were doing a terrible job. I go somewhere cheaper now, and I find that I am listened to more and my hair is exactly how I like it. I really think it just depends on the skill of the people working there.

Just wanted to reiterate the point that cheaper doesn`t always equal dodgy. I tried heaps of salons in Sydney and paid a lot for my cut + blow dry and was never happy with it. i go to a small independent salon near Shellharbour now, pay $28 for a wash, cut and “”dry off”” (which is pretty much a blow dry there) and I`ve never been happier. They treat you lovely, they do a good job, take their time and I love it there.

I think it`s just the luck of the draw!

Had the same thing done, but even sometimes an expensive salon can mess up a job. Less often than the small time salons though haha.

Last time I went to a new hairdresser I had the same problem as you Kim 11. When I got home I realised that the back of my hair was really crooked. It went down on an angle, one side was about 4-5 centimetres higher. I was so annoyed because I had told her I didn`t really want any off the length anyway. Afterwards I found out that the girl wasn`t a fully qualified hairdresser either.

Yep, I agree. I have a local hairdresser, that is reasonably priced. Only 2 hairdressers run the salon, but I don`t want to go anywhere else. Both hairdressers are fantastic.

i agree, some of the smaller, inexpensive salons will do a fabulous job, and be more freindly and service orientated unlike the bigger chain style salons where you often get impersonalised rushed services, it all depends on the quality of the staff they have.
