waxing underarms?

Ok, so here’s my story.
I’ve been shaving my underarms since i found them but being sick of doing it so often, i let them grow a bit (that was a bit gross) and went on to wax them.
So, this wax i’ve been using on my legs and they work well, it’s the Veet wax strips.
But when i tried to wax my underarms, all the wax was left behind and obviously, no hair was pulled out. The skin was left red raw and painful to the touch. Maybe it was because i didn’t pull it in the right direction?? The hairs aren’t that coarse either, i thought they would come out easily.

Anyone else had that problem or waxed their underarms successfully??

I am so tempted to save up for ipl on my underarms! I keep trying to justify it myself because really it will pay for itself eventually as I`m only early 20`s and have a lifetime of waxing/shaving to continue paying for. Please someone let us know how their ipl underarm goes 🙂

im going to post my question here instead of making a new post… Long story short, i get a shaving rash under my arms and HAVE to apply this cream every day or it gets incredibly itchy and spreads. Just wondering if anyone would recommend waxing instead, meaning it wouldnt be aggrivated as much, and may even go away. does/has anyone get their under arms waxed? does it hurt? hehe

I whole heartedly encourage you to get them waxed! You won`t get a shaving rash or anything like that, I haven`t had any overly adverse reactions to waxing and I have fairly sensitive skin. The worst has been getting the occasional ingrown, so it`s really important to exfoliate regularly. You also won`t get the pointy hairs from shaving growing through that could be causing the itchiness. I get mine done every 3-4 weeks depending on the growth, and over 2 years of only waxing, the thickness has decreased significantly. As for the pain factor, it`s a weird feeling, but its an area you can get a lot of tension on so it`s quick and very low pain (and I have a LOW threshold for pain haha). You kind of get used to it after a few times 🙂

Oh good for you Bris!!! That`s great! I go to Essential Beauty in Melbourne, and they might have a Bris salon. I have found their prices reasonably cheap, good hygiene (very important!!) and the staff know what they`re doing. So glad! Let me know how you go darl, and we can support each other through this! Let`s do it together!! hug xoxo
