Waxing – Products and Tips Welcome!

So I’m tired of hair growing back so quickly after shaving so I have decided to take the leap to buy some wax so I can diy at home. Then I realised that I don’t know what I need to buy. Obviously I need the wax and strips, but do I need anything else?
* Like how do I know how hot the wax should be?
* Do you have any brands that you think are better than others?
* Are bigger strips better?
* How difficult will it to clean the reusable strips?
* Can I use it on all my whole body including sensitive areas like underarms and face?
* Will I still get ingrowns?

Also, additional info about it would be great! Thanks gals!

Another tip – if your skin is red after waxing, put an iceblock on it as it will relieve the redness and any soreness. x

I use waxaway hot wax and I really that.

I just want to share one tip – before you start doing wax, put some talcum powder on the area you want to wax…it will make waxing much easier and will hurt little less 🙂

    i there!
Ive used wax before that you needed to microwave, but honestly, that stuff is so messy and time consuming; you have to get it to the right temperature, then spread it on your sheets (omg and the thought of cleaning the sheets TT)

I suggest using the wax strips, like the ones that are pre-done on the strip – all you have to do is rub the sheets with ur walm hands to build on the temperture then peel (since is double sided) then stick on and mush it into ur hairs (LOL) and then rip. I found that you could use the same strip for about 3 rounds (just keep pressing hard into skin and you must rip FAST!

    Hope that helped 🙂

As well, to tell my story – I always pluck my arm pit hair and its really so annoying. Coz I result in many red dots and spots which is really not that appealing… but when I grew all my hair out and used the wax strips, OMG it was soooooo soft 🙂

Btw, strip sizes all depend on the area youre trying to wax!

Thanks for all the input guys! I just bought the Waxaway warm wax, it cost $11 so we’ll see how it goes. Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong.

Just a tip: If you find you run out wipes to remove excess wax off with, baby oil does the trick and same with moisturiser!

i know what you mean ! i hate having the regrowth so soon.

the wax i used is called ” Nads body wax strips”
    with desensitizing kava wipes.

i found these to be pretty good, i liked that the strips are made from fabric,
so they tear easily if you want a smaller strip, instead of making scissors sticky.

at first i couldnt tell if the kava wipes worked or not,
till i found a patch i didnt wipe hahaha..oh boy it hurt.

another thing about these is, they are quite strong.
not for sensitive skin, one i used on my skin actually took a bit of my skin off, and ive had a white patch there for a month or so now :/
where my natural tan got taken off.

i noticed the hair grew back a lot finer though, and took a while to actually show up again.

If you do have sensitive skin, i tried some others from Nair i think,
the wax strips are pink and they are so gentle i could use it on my face ( eyebrows ) but i wouldnt suggest that unless you really know what youre doing.

Hi guys! I use the waxaway body strips and cut them in half as I’m just too chicken to do a giant slab lol!
I use the ready to use ones because I just can’t be bothered with the hot wax.
My tips would be to exfoliate the day before, as they say you shouldn’t do it right before you wax because your skin is ‘raw’.
I wait a few hours before moisturizing as well, and about once a week I use rose hip oil to do a deep moisturize as I find my legs get a bit dry because you rip the top layer of skin off!
In growns are a lot harder to get when waxing, but just a good exfoliation every now and then will get rid of them completely.
You can use the same strip up to 20 times or something, but I usually do 3 max because after that it doesn’t work so well

Thanks for your help Jozzzy! So how many strips do you use for both legs?
