Vision Correction

I am short sighted and wear glasses for driving. I’d like to find out more about other eye correction procedures. Just wanted to find out if anyone has had Lasik or any other eye correction procedures and if so were they happy with the outcome, were there any problems and how much did it cost?

I`m shortsighted and plan to have surgery when I`m in my mid-twenties as I reckon it`ll be so advanced by then that I`ll be getting my money`s worth.

I don`t need glasses for everyday, but if I`m in class or at the movies, I do need to wear them. They`re annoying and I don`t have the face for glasses!

I wear the hard lenses apparently they are better for my eyes. I would love to have vision correction but I think my short sightness is too bad. Even if they corrected mine a little I would be happy. Im as blind a s a bat. I think those lenses would be expensive but the program was very interesting and would be great to try to see if it works.

I`m just like you, blind as a bat and wear the hard lenses.. I would also love if I got corrected just a bit, so I can wear soft lenses..
I`ve been dying to get LASIK for ages, so maybe this is the year 🙂

I always avoided wearing my glasses if I could because they gave me headaches after a few hours, this was caused more by the frames not the lenses and most frames do this to me. I went to Specsavers last week to have my eyes checked again, ordered 2 pairs of glasses and they gave me lenses to trial. I have astigmastism so they`re not perferct but they`ve ordered in 2 weekly lenses that will fit me better to try. My eyes tend to get blurry in the afternoon from the lenses, they`re comfortable enough but a little drying. I can`t wait to get my script so I can try other brands to see how they feel on my eyes.

I had LASIK done in 2009 and it`s the best thing I`ve ever done. Your eyesight does regress (as your eyes continue to change even after the procedure). My surgeon overcorrected slightly to account for this. To me it literally felt like coming up from underwater, or suddenly seeing the world in HD. I`m still grateful for being able to see faces as faces and not vague blurs. Eventually I`ll probably have to get it corrected or “”touched up”” again as I got it at a young age, but think it was totally worth the cost and would definitely do it again if I can and need to.

I was wondering that too. I have TERRIBLE eyesight and can barely see, but would my eyes keep getting worse after surgery??

I work on a computer with 3 screens all day, and I`m wondering if I did get laser eye surgery, would my eyes eventually deteriorate from the constant computer work, thus the surgery becomes a waste of money?
I`m 23 and only had to start wearing glasses constantly when I started working on a computer all day. I can`t see without them anymore and I get migraines if I try!

You can improve your eyesight vision through exercises if you do this regularly and it is more effective if you eat healthy foods that are rich in vitamin A, C, and E. I had also undergo in this natural vision correction, before I had a myopia but after this treatment my vision slowly become clear. At first I doubt the effectiveness of it but when I try it I was amazed. I can now see much clearly even in a distance. by the way, here is the link of the said natural vision correction

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but that eye reshaping contacts thing is called Orthokeratology (Ortho-K). (thats if any of you wanted to search it up on google)

Yep thats right, Orthokeratology contacts are worn at night to correct your vision while you sleep. You take them out during the day without wearing traditional contact lenses or glasses.

Atm, I`m using the daily disposable eye contacts, very hygienic as you only wear it once and throw them away so if you plan on having LASIK in the future, make sure your cornea (transparent part of the eye) is never ever infected by dirty contacts!

I get away with wearing 2 days of the daily disposable contacts, I wash my hands vigorously and let the contacts soak in the solution but I wouldn`t recommend wearing them for heaps of days lol

I heard an aricle on Tv yesterday baout some contacts that you can wear to bed 3 times and week and then be able to have 20/20 vision all day.. is this really possible and is it safe?

HI ALL! Ok I can tell you a fair bit because I just had Lasik done 2 months ago and before that I had the Ortho-k (hard lenses) so read on:

Hard Lenses (Ortho-k) – Ok I wore these contacts for 10 years! at first they said to me that eventually i would only have to wear them every 2nd night but that never happened for me. 2ndly – some private health covers cover ortho-k lenses (ie. cua health – credicare they are called). the good thing about these is that during the day you dont have to wear anything. the bad thing is that sometimes they dont work as well especially if you sleep irregular hours also they can make your eyes dry as well. they are an ok option but ask me any questions you have about these .

NOW Lasik! – THIS IS FANTASTIC ! I can not recommend it higher!! All I wish is that I had done it sooner! it is about a 15min procedure (after some initial consultations) and it costs about $7k for 2 eyes but seriously! its your eyes! its so worth it! my eyesight is fantastic now and i love that i dont have to worry about contacts ever again. ask me any questions about this only too happy to help 🙂

There is always a risk when getting laser treatments, and you will have to sign that you agree with the risk even though it is very low. My friend got laser eye correction and she says it`s well worth it.
