Thanks girls – ended up having to buy some – didn`t need it to remove all the nailpolish – just to dip a cotton bud into to fix up mistakes. Thanks anyway! 🙂

Elmo, paint the nail with a thick coat of cheap nailpolish, leave for a few seconds then wipe off with a tissue/cottonwool.

Thanks for your suggestions style queen – sorry wasn`t really clear with my question – I`m hopeless at doing my own nails so I need something on hand to a) either take it all off to start again or b) to dip cotton tip into to fix mistakes! And no, no turps at home unfortunately!

I have heard if you soak your fingers and some really hot( but bearable) water it can loosen up the polish. I`ve also heard if you put fresh nail polish on top of your old coat then wipe it off with a tissue it can remove it. Also, and i am not sure about the safety of this!, some people use some turpentine diluted with a bit of water to remove nail polish. But i dont recon you would have any lying around… and i am not sure if it is very good for the skin around your nails either. but there are some suggestions, i hope they might be helpful
