*STRESSED* about my skin…doesn’t seem to get better..

I used to have really great clear skin, but now it has just stopped. I don’t know why, but my friends say it because of the foods I eat like greasy and chocolates, but I had clear skin even if I did eat un healthy choices!
It really really affects me how 10 people have commented me on my skin and I have spent a lot of money to try and get my skin back but nothing works!! please help me, my face isn’t THAT bad…but I have acne scars and pimples around my mouth area…any tips?

No cleansers though, I’ve spent over $90 on cleansers.
Are there any great experiences that actually work??

Thanks ladies xx

Thankfully everyone on here is stressing the importance of not self assessing, Nivea Youth. PLEASE go see someone about it, as we don`t want your fab young skin getting damaged. xoxo

A correction on my previous post – I`ve actually been having lactic acid peels, which are gentler than glycolic.

I`ve read great success rates for both types though – but of course what you have done, and what type, will depend on your BT`s assessment. I wouldn`t ever recommend someone get stuck into active skincare with professional advice – hence in my first post I recommended they see a beauty therapist. A well trained BT would never put so much/high strength on you that you would burn or inflame – as my skin is sensitive and I have mild rosacea – my BT literally stood there watching my face to see how it reacted to the peel – ready to take it off immediately if there were any problems – like any good BT would. So I wouldn`t be scared of having your face burnt off – they`re not as extreme as some peels (ie Samantha in sex and the city!)/

Yes JP Extreme is definately a completely hydrating range! Yep, the glycolic products coming onto the market are getting more and more refined and better to use that`s for sure.

This JP Extreme Makeover range would be no good for you Nivea though! This range would be good for you in about 50 years time I`d expect. : ) I bet your local skin specialist would be able to point you in the right direction for your young skin type. : ) If you do, let us know what he/she recommends. I`d love to know how you go.

Ness I am sure the JP definately helped my skin, the only thing now is I am glad not to use that moisturiser any more, lol, it was so totally greasy on my face and when I woke every morning I would have to wash off a huge layer of oil, lol, although on the same not it really did compliment the exfoliator, I wouldn`t use it without the soothing moisturiser on afterwards 🙂
Anyway I am really really happy with my new skincare regime, I have not had any success with the glycolic products that I have used in the past and was worried they would irritate my skin, but nothing not at all, it is great, I got more tingling, slight stinging sensations from the JP exfoliator to be honest. This MD range is fantastic 🙂

glycolics can actually further inflame, burn, sting and/or irritate alot of acne types other than vulgaris, especially cystic acne.I f you have red, sore, open or inflammed acne or skin, please see a b.t before using a glycolic.remember they are CHEMICAL peels, that can be too harsh for younger skins.

Mel that`s great your skin is looking good at the moment! Maybe it`s from the gorgeous John Plunkett products we trialled?!! I love those products!

Nivea, for pimply or acne prone skin, sometimes it`s worth a trip to the skin specialist if things are just getting worse and worse no matter what you try. A referral is needed from the GP but is majorly worth it if you had troublesome skin which won`t let up (like I did when I was in my 20`s – was so glad I took the step into the skin specialist`s office – perfect outcome!).

My main skincare dilemma is really trying to reduce the redness, my skin is looking rather good atm, and I hardley ever suffer from breakouts anymore, I really believe that the phyto corrective gel is helping with the redness though, I will be happy to hear what a professional thinks though 🙂

From what she`s told me it can treat anything as mild as surface congestion (like I have) to actual cystic acne. Genius treatments in my opinion! 🙂

That is good to know, thanks 🙂 I wonder if I will need a peel when I visit the BT, I am really looking forward to their analysis on my skin 🙂

Mel from what I know it doesn`t matter about age. You can get anti-ageing related peels as well – but these are just like a really good exfoliation (like microdermabrasion in that way) to get rid of the build up of dead skin cells and gunk that causes pipmles. My BT had them done at 16 after going on roaccutane for a month and hating it, so she had peels and at home facial treatments instead. I also remember a doctor recommending peels when I was about 14 or 15 ( I wish I had taken their advice back then!).
