Sleeping with mascara

Hey everyone,

i just have to ask if its alright to sleep with mascara on and maybe a bit of eyeliner…
im asking this because i use mascara and eyeliner when i go out and then when i get back home it is usually late or i am tired and i just cant be stuffed taking it off.
there is hardly any eyeliner left when i get back home anyway so its just mostly mascara.
i know its bad to sleep with foundation and stuff on but how about mascara??

it would be a great help if known,

thanx,

Taz xx

i know, i also find if i leave mascara andd eyeliner on i cant open my eyes when i wake up! its quite a scary feeling, they are sometimes stuck together and take a few minutes to open up. also everyone gets sleep in their eyes, and sometimes mascara can get in the sleep which gets in your eye and can cause infections so that is another reason to take it off. eyeliner is alos dangerous when not taken off, my friends mum left it on every night and got a nasty infection from it getting into her eye!

No matter how late it is, or how tired I am, I always take off my make up before bed! I hate the feeling of waking up with it still on, I hate looking like a raccoon and it makes a mess of my nice pillow cases too……a few minutes before bed is all it takes, and your skin and eyes will thank you for it!

I am quite naughty most of the time i couldn`t be stuffed or am to tired to take my make-up off, i should really be more careful and do it everynight plus if you wear you maskara to bed you bake up with black eyes

I dont know why but i find that if i leave mascara on and go to sleep, i wake up with my curled lashes…!! I`ve never used a curler before (looks scary 🙁 ). But with this `trick`, my lashes curl up in the morning and reapply mascaras, my lashes look great!! This is probably weird, maybe it is the way I sleep or something. But now I`ve decided to be firm and clean my eyes before I go sleep 🙂

Haha yes I am style queen! Anything that works and saves me money is good in my book!
    .
I admit after a big night I`m generally pretty naughty and forget to take makeup off…well not so much forget as can`t be bothered and would probably struggle with it too! Def feel much better in the morning if I`ve removed all makeup tho! Don`t feel as dirty and crusty! lol

Lucky it dosent effect you in anyway, but I guess you never know when its going to creep up on you. If I dont remove my mascara I find its so much harder to remove in the morning and I have panda eyes then and its even harder than just simply removing my mascara from the night before. If I dont remove it my eyes feel very heavy and start to throb abit and become red. Not exactly something I enjoy lol. Got to agree with you Elmo, baby oil works a treat 🙂

haha your a baby oil advocate elmo. woolysmum your so lucky youve never had any bad xperiences with not removing your mascara, i always find my eyes are red and hurt in the morning if i don`t take it off. and i reguarly get eyelashes in my eyes at night and stuff which makes them itchy and sore. im sticking to taking itoff lol

Baby oil is fantastic for taking off your makeup! It`s incredibly gentle (designed for babies – has to be!) – and so much cheaper than buying an amped up brand name which contains the same ingredients anyway! I always wear waterproof makeup so I need a decent makeup remover to take it all off – but I was going through so much of the loreal one I used, it was getting too expensive! Then I found out baby oil does the trick – costs like $5 for a much bigger bottle than the commercial brands – very gentle (I have very sensitive skin) and takes of all my waterproof makeup with ease! Def recommend it ladies – I have nothing bad to say about baby oil!
