    Hey Ray jay,

I had a sebaceous cyst on the back of my neck. It was probaly the size of a pea.
My Dr said its best to get them removed. I had it done at the Dr surgrey and did not feel a thing.
My hairdresser let me knoe the onther day i have a litlle bump on my scalp, i am going to get it checked next week. I think getting them removed is the best.

    Hey Ray jay,

I don`t have them but I a little bit about them. They happen when the outlet to sebaceous gland i.e. oil producing gland is blocked and the secretions collect within. The have to have a `black puntum` in the centre which indicates the opening of the gland. They are typically painless. They should be left alone if its not a worry. The only complication being infection and thats when they start to hurt.
Doctors do a procedure called incision and drainage where they empty the cyst and close it, depending on how big it is. Consider talking to your GP if you are likely to infect it by brushing or combing your hair.
