Scammed

My mother just got scammed from people that drag people into trying their products. My mother was trying out an eye cream by Black Pearl at Westfield and they said it used to be $250, my mum said it was too expensive so they reduced it to $80 for my mum. Well of course she got lured into buying it and so she did.
I looked online and they sold this eye cream for $50-$60! She got ripped off, so just to warn you all don’t be lured into products when you have never heard of it and when people are trying to get you into buying their products.

Definitely complain to the Westfield management. I did and they seem to actually act upon the complaints. My complaint was about the Jericho people and they seem much less aggressive these days. I complained because I had a salesperson literally hold on to me and block my way. I had my baby son with me and I couldn`t get the pram past so I was really angry. Westfield management were very polite and the head of Jericho rang up and offered me free products. I didn`t take them though because that was not why I complained.

you or your mum should complain to Westfield centre management, let them know about the bullying tactics they are taking and the deceptive selling. Westfield are usually pretty good about keeping the retailers honest because let`s face it, we can all shop in other places but they want us there.

That`s terrible. I always steer well clear of those people jumping out trying to get you to try their “”amazing”” hand cream/straightener/moisturiser, Pass!

Oh god I`ve had exactly this experience with those stupid stands. This guy spent halfan hour trying out a couple of products on me before telling me the price – apparently they`d USUALLY sell for $800, but he was willing to reduce it (just for me!) to the tiny price of $500! I just laughed and told him quite truthfully that I didn`t even have that much money in my bank account! 😀

I had someone approach me at one of those stands or something similar. They tried to sell me an eye cream for $80 and I said it was too expensive and kept reducing the amount to about $50 and I said I still couldn`t justify spending that amount. They asked me how much I was willing to spend and I said I wasn`t interested and walked away. Makes you wonder how much the products are really worth. I got a free sample of a serum which was quite nice though.

I always ignore those stands – I`m wary of anything that has to be flogged like that!

Yeah it sure is, i remember a year ago there was one of these stands in the middle of the shopping centres selling straighteners. The woman asked if i wanted my hair curled/straightened and well of course why not and she tried really hard to make me buy them. I wasn`t sure if i wanted to buy them or not because it seemed like a good product it was around $200 though.. the salesperson kept pushing me to call my mum and ask her. I felt really forced to be honest lol, thankfully i didn`t buy them.

OMG that is the worst-case scenario when it comes to buying beauty products…getting lured into a “”discounted”” product and then finding out that it wasnt worth that much anyway! I feel so bad for your mum, poor her. The best thing to do now is just inform her of this (in case you havent already) and learn from it. Thanks KnJ ive learnt something new today 🙂
