Religion
i was just watching the news and there was a story about another priest sexually abusing school children at some catholic school. as a school student myself it makes me scared and also sick to think people like that can even be allowed to be in schools! of course the people who appoint don’t know but yeah. i just felt like saying something about it. most of the preists and stuff who sexualy abuse the kids belong to a religion where they can’t have sex or be in relationshps, and i think thats a major contributer. they can’t have a normal relationship so they become attracted to children. maybe? i don’t know. being an aethiest i suppose this is a bit of a biast view because its not only priests who are paedophiles. i don’t know. anyone got an opinion?

It is a indeed very sad what we as humans do to each other. I certainly do not believe a person wakes up in the morning and decides to intently commit to negative behaviour. There are definite circumstances in a persons life that progress certain types of unthinkable behaviour. Children who are subject to such can and do mimic the same behaviour without understanding the ramifications.
As for religion my view is whilst I respect there are many worldwide faiths, the reality is there is good and not so good if one delves into every religion.
The intent on controlling people = power forming many side affects. Am grateful I have many friends from different cultural backgrounds who as a result of their faith perform accordingly.
Am grateful my siblings and I were given the freedom to choose when the hippie error was alive and well. We are very individual in many ways and our not conforming to any religion has not harmed us or our families in any way. We can ve very opinionated as the next person the difference is we respect and welcome people of all faiths into our circle of life. For without such our evolving world would surely miss the beauty in the goodness that life holds.Politics, I have been fortunate or as some would say unfortunate to have been involved in the political arena from a high level. I can honestly say the bridges are far and wide with many choosing religion as their primary focus to achieve success.
Reality hits home when what I call the game of manners is played with zero rules. To stand back and watch dishonesty unfold in many forms is why I believe woman do a better job in leadership our consideration is greater and we have exceptional managerial skills. I hope in my time, we will see a female prime minister as is the case in other countries. The world will certainly be a better place for generations to come!
And to think initially when I started this response I promised I wouldn`t go too far well tell me a woman who doesn`t share views the thought sends me into fits of laughter!! -

As I can`t even begin to understand how someone can view a child as a sexual object, I believe the only explanation for that behaviour has to be a chemcial inbalance in their brain – which I guess makes it a mental condition. It is unfortunate that due to the media catholic priests have been given a bad name, because of course reporting that a priest is abusing children is so sensationalist it`s going to grab people`s attention and make for great `news`.
The media is to blame for a lot of things and it`s unfortunate that far too many people believe anything they read/hear without questioning any of it. I for one love reading more about dodgy situations – even reading into conspiracy theories on major events, just to make my own mind think about things a bit more. I think children should be taught in schools to question things more, rather than becoming another sheep in society.
Politics make me mad too princess – things are never what they seem, the public always gets fed one story when there`s a whole other side to the situation that just doesn`t get publicised.
.
Back to religion – I`m not religious myself, because I like to see proof of things I believe in, I was brought up catholic (not in any kind of super strict way) but I rejected that when I realised I didn`t believe. I have no problem with religious people – I just think when they`re extremist it becomes problematic because they start using their beliefs to justify their actions. Nowhere in islamic religion does it say to kill others – but the extremists have taken it that way. But pretty much all religions (except perhaps buddhists!!) have killed others in the name of their god – there`s always been religious wars and sadly probably always will be due to the stubbornness and intolerance of so many people.
