Recommendations for hairstyle websites?

I need a new look! My last foray into the world of haircuts left me a little dissapointed (went from long to a bob). Whilst the front of my bob looked great, the back view was quite the disaster – more blob than bob!
I have been growing my hair for awhile and I am totally fed up with it.
Before I venture back into the hairdressers chair, I want to go armed with some good pix of current styles, that possibly show the style from all angles. I really dont want to show up with the latest celebrity haircut photo in my hand.
Can anyone suggest some good web sites that may have a range of mid length hairstyles (for 40+ girls who want to look stylish).

I would recommend using Flickr to find images. There are really good ones there. You can also try to use Google search for pics. There are a lot of great websites out there but you really need to dig in to find them. Hope this helps!

I definitely agree on YouTube or Google images.
Most beauty websites show a lot of different hair styles as well.
I also got one of those hairstyle magazines once and took it into my hairdresser with me as it had exactly what I wanted in it at the time. Then when I got home I realised I’d left it there and when I next went back they had thrown it out. I was so disappointed!!

I would recommend having a look on YouTube. There are a lot of ladies of all ages who do videos on hair and all things beauty and you are sure to find inspiration from one of them. A lot of them aslo do hair styling videos showing you how to do a particular hairstyle step by step. YouTube has been my best discovery and I have learnt how to do so many hairstyles from it.

youtube – i agree with that.

    try out Heather123

I use Google images -try various different ways of describing what your after sometimes you can different pics with different wording. Even type in rear view of whatever style it is eg; rear view of bob haircuts.
I also buy the hair mags – I think they are actually called Hair, most salons have them too, or even folders that they have made up themselves of pics cut out of magazines. Other than Google Images or other search engines Images section I have never had much luck with finding an actual website that just shows different hairstyles (I’ve spent hours looking).

I love looking through the hairstyle books in the newsagent and buy some from time to time.
Wen I was younger i had the bob with VERYYYY blonde hair everyone absolutely loved it to bits…..it was just high maintenance.

I’ve found that Google images works well for finding styles. I searched for “long layered hair” and “long shag hair” to find mine. You could easily do “mid length hair” etc.
