If you`re into satirical and dark books, try Chuck Palahniuk. I`m an avid fan! You probably know his work- fight club? yeah he wrote the book the movie was based on.

Oh wow Bundy where did you get the Glass series? I`ve had the Study series for a while and have noticed they`ve been rereleased in Kmart etc recently. I was so excited when I saw them and then realised I`d already read it.

Another author option is J D Robb, it`s actually Nora Roberts. The In Death series is all about a New York cop, Eve Dallas, and her murder investigations as well as her developing relationship with a special guy and her friends.

It`s a brilliant series and I own all of them, around 25 I think, and there are more on the way. There`s murder, action and romance plus you really get involved with the characters as there are so many books with them developing throughout.

    Hi all,

I just finished reading Marian Keyes latest book, The Brightest Star in the Sky. I loved it, I read it in about a day and a half! But then, I`ve really enjoyed all the books I`ve read by that author. I recommend it.

I am currently reading Maria V Snyder`s Study & Glass series (2 seperate series that are linked (ie same world some same characters) that are still currently growing…. 3 in the Study series are released:( Poison Study, Magic Study & Fire Study) and 2 in the Glass series (Storm Glass & Sea Glass).

Another good fantasy series is by Alison Croggon (an Aussie author) is the Pellinor Series (4 books).: The Gift, The Riddle, The Crow, The Singing.

Trudi Canavan has a good trilogy tbe black magician trilogy

For a longer series Kathryn Kerr (Deverry Series: 12 Books) or Terry Goodkind (Sword of Truth series: 11 Books)

Honestly, you have to read Traci Harding`s trilogies, I am obsessed with her books, they are totally amazing!! What is even better is that she is an Australian author (although her stories are not set in Australia, the main character is an Australian woman). I can`t rave on enough about her first book, “” The Ancient Future””, it is a MUST read, from then on you are hooked!!!!

Hi TKM. If you go online to the website for the Vampire Diaries books you can actually read an extract from the first book. Try before you buy, so to speak.
