Reaction to NeoStrata Product!?

Hi-i’m having a bit of a skin crisis after i started usind the 18% Glycolic foaming Facewash from Neo Strata a few days ago,and i was wondering if anyone had similar experiences with products which have a high Glycolic acid concentration…
At first i thought, wow,my skin feels great after using it,but yesterday,3 days after i started with it,my whole face started itching, and just generally feels weird. But the worst part, even though the stuff came nowhere near my eyes, everything puffed up!I now have huge swollen sacks under my eyes, and the upper lids don’t look much better.Needless to say,i have now stopped using it,but i would be very annoyed having wasted another 40 bucks on a product i can’t use.Should i have used a milder version first,or can anyone enlighten me why this could have happened? Thanks for reading…

Absolutely, as mel says, build up usage gradually. Give your skin a rest to recover for now, then once it’s better, start off just maybe once a week, and then the next week maybe twice, etc etc. Start off slow!!

Definatley Glycolic in high strength forumulations can cause all sorts of problems, I have sensitive skin, but I am ok with Glycolics. The key is to build it up gradually, you could start on a lower strength and only use it a couple of times a week, you skin has tro get use to it. I think though some people can just never use it unfortunately.
