PUPPP Pregnancy Rash

Hi,

I have a PUPPP rash…otherwise known as plaques of pregnancy. It is a rash that starts in your stretch marks, and covers your tummy…it doesn’t effect your face, chest or back. It is very very itchy, and being pregnant doctors don’t like to prescribe cortisone creams. Just wondering if anyone has had this and knows of a safe way to stop the itch, and what products they used?

Thanks,

If you want a lovely smelling natural product, try Aroma baby. They do some beautiful creams and oils that contain soothing healing essential oils that are perfectly safe for use during pregnancy, target usually stock them and some health food stores.
If not, grab a bottle of apricot kernal oil and a bottle of lavender or chamomile essential oil, mix 100 mls of oil with 5 -10 drops of essential oil. this is .5 to .25% dilution.
Also make chamomile tea really strong, let it cool then do cool compresses.
2 cups of oatmeal and 1/2cup bi-carb soda in the bath should also help.
When are you due? it`s very exciting, keep us posted on how you are going and what you have.

i had a prob kinda like that but it only went like a rash after i scratched. it ended up being where i developed stretch marks so my theory is that it`s stretch marks comming up, what ever you do DO NOT SCRATCH it`ll make it worse. try a product called “”stop- itch”” to stop the annoying itch.

Hi there, ok, I had exactly the same thing and I know how you feel, the itch drives you crazy! Firstly make sure you are not using soap or a drying body wash. Something moisturising if you can. Then the cream I swear by in all 3 of my pregnancies is called “”Happy Event”” available at pharmacies, is around $8 I think but is it fantastic. Give it a go!
