Products to keep in the curls

I have such straight hair (asian) and it’s difficult to put in the effort to get it curled up for special occasions. And then, they drop out in a few hours! Any suggestions on products, brands or techniques that would help keep them in?

i use a sunsilk hair spray in the green can, it works really well and doesn`t dry my hair out. i have used a lot of it and never had any problems with dry or damaged hair.

Sarahjane is right when your hair is that straight the only way to hold the curl is to use hairspray which will stiffen it but that`s how it holds the curl. If you use rollers – spray each one with hairspray and leave them until absolutely cool – or with tongs make sure you spray each curl when the tong is in it. Some hairsprays are better than others as in they brush out as opposed to the old-style ones where you literally had to wash the hairspray out of your hair! I just use the cheap cedel green bottle one where you can get aboslutely everywhere and I find it works great – gives good hold but brushes out too.

Curl your hair the day after you wash it. Section your hair starting from the bottom working your way up. Take a small piece to be girl and give it a burst of spray down the length, then run your fingers over it. Curl as normal. When the curl is done, cup it in your hand and give a spray again, then leave it. Do the rest of your hair the same way. When you`ve done the whole lot, run your fingers through your hair and give a light spray again. Unfortunately, people with dead straight hair, or long hair, the weight drops the curls out and the spray makes them hold.

its works best when your hair hasnt been freshly washed as the curls will hold better ….. maybeif it was washed a day or so ago and then a bit of hairspray should hold it

If an aerosol hairspray makes your hair dry, try a non aerosol liquid hairspray sprayed on each section when you are setting, they are usually a bit stronger than curl products then a bit of serum after you take your rollers out to get rid of the crunchy effect.

Hmmm..I might have a go at the Got 2 b curled up stuff. I don`t really like using too much hairspray cos of it`s drying effect..Are there any good brands that don`t do this? Or do I just use too much?!

I always use hairspray all over my hair,
then use hot rollers then harirspray again.
results may vary from person to person.
Another product I use is “”Got 2 b curled up””
    curling spray, (its green liquid)
use this instead of hairspray (from Priceline)
