Pimple Products, Cheap v’s Expensive

I have had pimple prone skin since i was 13. Im now 27. Ive tried expensive products from beaty therapists (Ella Bache, Algologie), I have also tried supermarket brands like Garnier, Loreal and Clean & Clear. None of them really work. Ive tried changing diet, drinking lots of water, all with no results…….cost wise I think im better off using supermarket stuff but is it bad for my skin in comparison to the ‘good stuff’?

Spiteful what products did they choose for you?

I found the Clinique 3 step too harsh for my skin as well and i have friends who also found that it irritated their skin. My suggestion would be to actually consult a GP. I did that a few weeks ago and she chose me a set of two products, one for day and one for night for around $30. Im yet to see a result but she said that it would take about a month or two… fingers crossed

I have tried upmarket and cheap ones. There is not difference IMHO. I was reading an article that says to reduce acne try reducing salt and sugar. Apparently salt can aggrivate the skin.

cetaphil gentle cleanser, watch your diet, and avoid putting too much pimple cream on. pimple cream doesnt work if u put too much on, it only irritates the skin making the pimple look bigger and more red. your skin can heal on its own.

I`ve never compared prices…but Estee Lauder seems to be a tad dearer than Clinique.
As I have purchased different products from both….is it the perfume that you are paying the bit extra for…well I`d rather not have the fragrance if thats the case.

I think the only difference is that Lauder is perfumed, other than that its the same. Is Estee Lauder more expensive than Clinique?

Like Estee Lauder owns Clinique…its probably all the same…except Estee Lauders packaging is posher…and thats what your paying for…

Many of them own the companies but they usually buy them out. they are not necessarily the same product. Sometimes it pays to spend more on a product but I dont believe this is the case necessarily with acne. Some technology is expensive to produce for example liposomes which release ingredients over time or micronization which makes molecules smaller. but sometimes you are just paying for marketing. It really pays to get to know ingredients.

Everyone is different, the expensive ones aren`t necessarily the ones that will work for you. Do you realize that many of the cheaper skincare/cosmetic brands are actually owned by the same company that also makes the expensive stuffs?! Google it and find out. 🙂
