Old reviews changed??

I was confused about this too! Glad it was not just me.

I noticed that when I looked at the My Reviews (in the My Beautyheaven section), the star rating on some of them had changed. But turns out the star rating in the My Reviews section just represents the average star rating of the product based on all reviews.

As a new member to bh, discovering this surprised me and it had actually made me think that I must have somehow changed my ratings. Not sure about other beautyheaveners out there, but I think the star rating in the review section under ‘my beautyheaven’ should show what each member rated not the average rating of the product. I like to keep this section kind of like a note to myself so that I know when looking back on it what I rated for each product and how it worked for me.

I can’t believe 3 years ago I never even thought this kind of thing existed, I wasn’t that experienced with the Internet and it was only through Googling all things beauty that all these amazing sites popped up. BH being the all time favourite, of course. I have got to trial many awesome products and win prizes and talk to the lovely BH members. What a life!!!

heeHee, Mel, so true. When I look at my first review I was so nervous had no idea what to do and had never even posted anything in a public domain. I have come a long way too from my first few liners 🙂 Took me ages before I joined the trial team too, but am really thankful to have had the opportunity.

I did click on the read full review and it is still showing just what is seen on that first screen.

Maybe thats all i wrote?? Maybe I was concise back in the old days and its only recently that I have gotten super wordy? But even looking back at my last years glosscars reviews they all seem so short – 5 lines max. I thought they would have been longer because I remember just before last years glosscars i did my first trial team so had the sheet saying what to review (ie packaging, feel, smell, results etc) and remember using that sheet as a guide to doing my glosscars reviews. Oh well…who knows!!

Definitely could be the case, when I first started my reviews were shocking, just a few lines. It was not until I became more active in the forums and learned from the other members about quality reviews did my reviews improve. That is probably why it took me over 12 months to get invited into the trial team as well, haha, but in those days you did have to be turquoise to get invited. It made sense though because most new people do only write a few lines because they don’t know any different. It is something that you learn over time and your reviewing skills grow. Hopefully you get it sorted darl 🙂

Sorry – yeah i did mean through my reviews, but i think its the same through the product reviews anyway – I think all my reviews from sep last year or older and now only 2 sentences long but i definitely would have written more than that. So I was wondering whether, whent hey switched to having the 3 sections for the reviews (review, tips, ideal for) and reviews done before that got cut back? Weird!!

I have not had any of my reviews changed at all, have you clicked on the actual review to see if it is another section of the new format, like maybe they have just taken a couple of lines out that are showing as tips or something and the rest of the review is only available when you click on it??

I think you have to click on “read full review by ‘Member’s name'” to see your full review. SOmetimes that i mix up the lines while writing reviews, my actual review may appears in “tips”

Haha this happened to me recently as well, had me stuffed, I was shocked who would have changed my ratings, haha, but BH kindly informed us it was in fact the average rating which was a relief 🙂
