I would definetly recommend trying Dermalogica. I’ve just switched to them after years of trying to find a face wash routine that actually worked for me. I’ve noticed my skin has become clearer and a dramatic difference in the oil production after only a few weeks of trying the product.

For oily skin, I would reccomend using a gel moisturiser. e.g. DIOR’s hydra action range or Biotherm’s aquasource. I love using Clinique’s city block and Dior’s hydra action tinted moisturisers even though they leave my skin looking oily during the day, therefore I apply Chanel’s vitalumiere eclat powder straight after and that leaves my skin looking matt all day.

hi ziggy, i had oily skin too but have been using the Clean start range of products from dermalogica which have really cleared up my skin. Included in the range are moisturisers that are SPF15+. They’re great as they are lightweight and won’t clog pores and they don’t leave that shiny veil other moisturises do. check out the clean start website for product info and give them a go 🙂

Lynnellew, you sound just like me. I am in my late 30s and battled oily skin forever. May I ask what the gel does? I might check this out on their website. Last year I converted to all dermalogica but am still fighting terribly greasy skin which is just getting worse over summer.

Ziggy, a gel cleanser is really nice and light, and check out some of the mattifiers out there, you might have to try a few until you find something that suits you. Good luck

I have had a long running battle with oily skin – and as I am in my 40’s I have seen no improvement. I have tried many many products with varying degrees of success (and failure).I now use the D-Blemish range from Mirenesse and have absolutely fell in ove with it. I initially started with the mask and gel – with excellent results. Then last week I bought the complete set (of 4) on tvsn.com.au for just under $100 (inc post).
I cannoy believe the results since I started using these products (the original mask and gel). It makes my skin feel clean and fresh and keeps the oil at bay all day. I am very happy with the results

Or just something on the oily areas like blotting papers and even the mattifier would help as well. I would defiantely suggest you sort out your basic skincare products first though before introducing any new products. The right basics could sort it out for you 🙂

Sounds like she just needs to switch to lighter products – if it’s only in summer that she gets oily.

Definately a gel cleanser will help, but you need to make sure the rest of your skincare products also compliments your oily skin, and works to combat it. There are products available like oil control lotions and mattifiers which help keep oil at bay as well 🙂

Your best bet is to swtich to a gel cleanser, and make sure all other products – ie moisturiser, sunscreen, foundation etc are all oil free. Do you have any other skincare concerns besides being oily?

What other products are you using? (ie moisturiser, makeup etc)
