I think I know what you are describing as I had the same issue with another shampoo in the past.
Can I ask what you do with your hair right after a shower? If you wrap it up in a towel and put the towel on top of your head, that’s actually causing leftover product to travel back to the roots of your hair and so your roots can end up feeling very greasy and heavy. This is especially common with “cheaper” brands of shampoo because even though you feel like you’ve washed it all out, it’s still clinging on in there somewhere! The simple solution is to just let your hair air-dry without wrapping it in a towel and when you towel-dry your hair, swipe the towel down the length of your hair.
If you DON’T wrap your hair up in a towel right after a shower, then yes, it may be time to look at a different shampoo with product that washes out far more easily… or to use product mainly on the tips of your hair and avoid massaging too much of it into your scalp.
Thanks for this interesting info Vivixenne. It makes a lot of sense and I do have a habit of doing this & have had problems with oily roots in the past.
How have you gone with the new s+c sharna2? I hope you’re seeing a difference 🙂

It sounds like the cheaper silicone’s they use in these brands, which coat your strands to produce that super soft gorgeous hair feeling you get after you initially wash your hair. While it feels really good straight up, after a few uses it builds up in your hair something shocking, and that could definitely cause it to become lank and lifeless, or even greasy, so you need to invest in a clarifying shampoo to get rid of it and you need to constantly use it about once a week/fortnight, depending on how frequently you wash your hair, to keep that buildup at bay. Most brands have a clarifying shampoo in their lineups 🙂 Many supermarket brands can cause this effect because they use cheaper silicone’s and ingredients too, so to avoid the side effects you should invest in a clarifying shampoo as a staple in your hair care routine 🙂
Apple Cider Vinegar works well as a rinse to remove buildup as well 🙂 -

I’ve found that I can’t use Dove shampoo or even the soap as it leaves me feeling greasy and my hair didn’t feel washed. This improved when I changed to Pantene and Nioxin (which I use weekly). I will take on board the wrapping of the hair in the shower as I always use one of those turban towels. It never occurred to me that the conditioner could be flowing back into the roots. Thanks for the warning.

Since I have been using more organic shampoo and cond. I find my hair less weighed down I love it.

Thanks for that info, I never knew that and I always wrap my head in a towel after a shower. Could be why my roots get so oily.
