Mix and Match

Does anyone ever mix and match products from different ranges and find they work like dynamite (but used alone they do nothing?) For example, I’ve been trying out the Superceutical Facelift Cream for the past month. It’s supposed to reduce wrinkles (which it didn’t – at least not for moi) but when I used it with Clinique Moisture Surge Treatment Formula it made my skin baby soft. (Again, the moisture surge did nothing by itself.) Another example – from the Redken range. If I combine the “Extreme” leave in conditioner with the “All Soft” leave in conditioner (which they no longer make – boo hoo) I get much softer and better behaved hair than if I use either product by itself. So perhaps this is a great excuse to invest in a range of products and try them out in all different combinations. Only problem is I’ll need a new room for all the shoe boxes full of new products that I’m experimenting with. Or perhaps a new house????

I`ve tried a range of products over the years & some of the products in a range are pretty average, but another product in their range might be great, I always keep the best from each range. Some ranges I`ve really liked but the moisturiser is too heavy or too light, beauty is time consuming lol. Thats why I LOVE this site because everyone understands my quest for the perfect products.

No point in just sticking to the one brand, mixing and matching is half the fun of it!!
Ad yes, I`ve found the same thing. Some products just work better with different brands.

it`s so true B.O. some of these people have skin much older than their years. as they say, jelousy is a curse. i am proud to be well groomed and to take some pride in my apperance. one of these people spend a fortune on their hair but have ordinary skin. a waste of money as far as i`m concerned, good hair must have good skin, nice hands and well kept feet. a little effort goes a long way.

can`t complain about nice skin and it justifies the need for so many products. Well any excuse for me!

i once would never have mixed and matched but now i`m with you B.O, i am finding that a good cleanser doesn`t have to be a really expensive one but i can buy a much more expensive moisturizer and eye cream by using more budget friendly products in other areas. i have to say that my hair is one area i can`t skimp. it hates cheaper products, i`ve tried them all but my hair is fussy.
and obsessivness, i`m right there with you gem. i have friends comment like ` oh wow, you really do have a lot of beauty products, must be why you have nice skin` me just as sarcastically, “”yep, that`s why I do have nice skin””

I used to stick to one brand however I mix and match most of my products. That way I get to try a variety of different brands and save a lot of money by doing so. I might spend $10 on a cleanser and splurge on a moisturiser and to me it works just as effective on my skin (if not better)! I`ve used a Pantene Clarifying shampoo with a Redken All Soft mask and found that the two products worked fabulous on my hair. I like to use a clarifying shampoo from time to time as I get a lot of build up in my hair.
