Mineral Make Up – MESSY?!

Hi all you lovely ladies! I recently bought some mineral make up and I love it – really good coverage and feels divine on the skin. I do have ONE complaint about it though and that is, it is SO messy when I am applyling it!!! It doesn’t seem to matter how much or how little make up is on the brush, it gets everywhere – like on the bathroom vanity, the sink, the floor! I always need to wear a dressing gown too so it doesn’t get on my clothes.
Is this a regular problem for anyone else or am I doing it wrong? LOL thanks xoxoxo

WHAEE, hello! As Makesmewonder and Beauty Obsession mentioned, there is a trick to applying Mineral Foundation:
Use a kabuki face brush if possible as these are perfect for absorbing the product and HOLDING it in the brush until it has been pressed into your skin. Dip the brush into the powder/product, TAP the brush in to the inside of the lid and then press or swirl it across your face (by now there should not be much fall out – or any at all).
Please let me know if this helps xx

  • It can be messy but as makesmewonder said you just tip a little onto the lid and swirl the brush around and draw the contents into the brush. I have a Pur Minerals brush which has instructions of Dip, Draw, Dust in sparkly letters.

when i`m using mine.. with the lid closed i gently tip some powder into the lid.. and then just work the powder into the brush into circular motions then apply.. haven`t really had many issues with it..
some girls i know when they pop theirs in their bags for a touch up during the day.. i can see how that can be a problem because the powder is all over the place when u open it.. but besides that, i don`t mind because i know its better for my skin than anything else.

I find using any powder (except pressed) a messy process – there`s just no way you`re not going to get powder on your benches etc!!

By the way, The mineral make up I`m using is the powder in the little pot – when I say it`s messy, I mean the powder flies everywhere and lands on the vanity, sink, my clothes etc. LOL just thought I`d explain it a little more clearly.
