I’d use pure metho or Isocol.

Spraying it with something like an ‘ear-ring piercing’ spray would work fine but you can also economically make your own spray by putting 70% Metholated Spirits mixed with 30% water into a spritzer bottle and it’s just as good as anything you buy (as it’s pretty much the same thing!) I love the Ikea spritzer bottles – they are great quality, cool shape and hold a decent but not too much quantity. Also great for using to sterilise taps and doorknobs if someone in your house has covid!! 🙂

Have decided to think a bit more before buying it but was going to buy a make up brush cleaning spray to use on it.

Good idea -not sure yet if I want one as I am not convinced of the benefits
