Using raw sugar as a body exfoliant if you run out of the real thing.

Just wanted to bump this thread again because i`ve made a list of all the things that i`m going to make and planned what ingredients I need to buy. I`m excited to make them all! Also I ordered the Carla Oates book on a whim so i`m waiting on that now.

Some of the things i`m planning on making:
<“Simple 3 ingredient face oil””:http://www.crunchybetty.com/simple-homemade-3-ingredient-facial-oil-moisturizer-customize-it-for-your-own-gorgeous-skin > that you can customise for your skin. I`m making one for my face and one for my neck/decolletage.
<“Shaving Cream””:http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/2013/06/make-your-own-shaving-cream-or-shaving-gel.html > to replace my store bought one by Avalon Organics.
    <“Whipped Body Butter””:http://www.rawmazing.com/homemade-body-butter-recipe >
<“Charcoal Face Mask””:http://bodyunburdened.com/diy-all-natural-blackhead-busting-blackout-mask > but I might try it with Kaolin Clay instead of Bentonite.
    <“Scented Dry Shampoo””:http://wellnessmama.com/5047/diy-dry-shampoo >

Now all I need to do is place an order with iHerb & New Directions for my ingredients. It`s exciting being able to make all of this stuff for myself and all of the recipes i`ve picked are nice & simple.

Carla Oates has been popping up a lot, must try to read her books. Might help me with my blemishes. 🙂

I got into making my own skin care in a big way. There are a couple of really great books.

    1. Feeding Your Skin by Carla Oates
    2. DIY Pure Plant Skin Care by Carolyn Stubbin

both Austalians. SEOC (Sydney Essential Oil Co) put out a series of 4 books that my brother gave me as a present they are really good and a website called http://www.auroma.com.au has a great reciple for an anti-wrinkle serum. It can be a little costly to set up with ingredients etc but well worth it if you want really natural skin care.

Carla Oates used to write a column in the Telegraph quite a while ago and then she stopped that and wrote a column for Well Being Magazine she now as a beauty supplement available on TVSN.

In Carla Oates book she has a recipe for a cleanser that is her version of the Eve Lom cult cleanser and its beautiful full of natural ingredients. I can post the recipes if I`m allowed to I`m only new to the BeautyHeaven forum so not sure about that.

I also make my own soap I used to make quite a bit of it but I have quite a stock so only make when we run out my favourite is the Goats Milk Soap very different to many that is out there and available at some markets.

I keep hearing great things about that Carla Oates book. I actually have the Wellbeing Beauty book that she co-wrote and edited, it`s full of great info and recipes too. I`m really tempted to buy her book! I`ll check out all of the books that you`ve mentioned, thanks!

Thanks for the info goldilox! I love experimenting with natural ingredients. Especially lemon juice, honey and witch hazel.
