make up shopping in USA
I just came back from America and I seriously do not believe how cheap high end and low end make up was compared to australia. I stocked up on lots of Revlon Colour stay foundations ($8 USD/ $40 AUS)and lipsticks ($4 USD / $30 AUS). I also stocked up lots on lancome, shiseido, NARS and alot of things from SEPHORA
I think my highlight of my trip was going into sephora and looking and comparing price differences and how much fun it was to shop knowing things are up to 50% offf AUS prices.!!
I dont mean to brag but would just love to hear about your fun experiences that you guys have had whilst shopping for make up overseas =D
xoxo Happy New years everyone!!!

My personal opinion here would be to try out the online shopping portals like Shoppers Stop, you will not only get make up, but you will find apparels like Indian kurta ( http://www.shoppersstop.com/cat-Men-Mens-Apparel-Kurta,Pyjamas-Stoles-262-315762.html ), casuals, formals and even jewellery stuff too. My experience with this site was good as I have got good collections of clothe, jewellery, shoes etc for all time.
Spam? Whenever I see the word ‘apparels’, sirens go off in my head.

Hi guys, thank you so much for posting all those great sites, but I was wondering if you can be sure they’re authentic? I like shopping at Strawberrynet but I read somewhere they were caught selling a couple of fake things, and apparently there are tonnes of fake makeup around (especially mac)….
I’m so paranoid now!! -

now im scared lol
im only taking some make up just foundation and a blush not much at all
Ill put half in my bag and half in johns
And ill keep away from duty free if i cant help myself. Maybe you just got a very mean person that day
Dont be scared!! Go crazy with the shopping but the best thing you can do is cut off all price tags and take the make up out of its packaging. I literally bought one medium size suitcase full of perfume make up facial products and as long as I have gotten rid of the price tags they let me through fine 🙂
Enjoy your trip and the Great exchange rate
xoxoIll do that.
Im odd i like to keep my boxes i have a huge collection lol

Yeah I was quite shocked when looking at the prices online (eg. Lancome) and seeing that the same product was less than half the prices as retailed in stores like Myer, David Jones. I really want to USA and stock up on skincare/makeup!
I think its more marked now we’re at parity. Before, when we were at 75c or even less, after the conversion the price difference wasn’t so extreme, its just now that our dollar has sky rocketed but the shops havent reduce their prices it is so noticible. At my old job (scientist) most of our suppliers imported from the US. Last time our dollar got near parity it then suddenly dropped to about 80c in a matter of weeks. We immediately got an email saying that X company had to raise all their prices due to the fall in the dollar…yet there was no simpilar email when the dollar was climbing offering to reduce their prices…funny that!!
