Leaving the house without makeup
Recently I’ve discovered that after not wearing any make up at all for a while, I’ve really gotten used to it. Although when I first stopped it felt like my face was so naked. What are your views on leaving the house without makeup? Do you wear makeup for a run down to the corner store? Or is it only for certain events

I always wear makeup to school, but on weekends when I’m mostly at home and on holidays I don’t wear makeup. I have some acne scars and my skin isn’t perfect so I don’t know how I can do it but I don’t mind. I’m a lot more confident with makeup on though, far more confident…but I’m not too self conscious without it.

Gosh, I’m so envious of you girls who are confident enough to step out bare-faced. Unfortunately for me the uneven pigmentation on my face makes me feel the need to always cover up, even if it’s just with a face powder. Once I have my ‘face’ on I feel like a totally different person!

Can’t remember the last time I went out the front gate without any makeup on – couldn’t do it, wouldn’t do it. Some of us are blessed with natural raw beauty, and some of us aren’t. I’m one of the ones that isn’t, but it doesn’t bother me in the slightest because I’m delighted with what I can do each day with my brushes, bottles and palettes. I remember when I went on a skiing holiday in my twenties and a group of us were staying in a chalet – I walked out of the bathroom after my shower, and pretty much the whole gang asked me if I was feeling ok. Later (considerably later!) when I emerged with my makeup on, I could see they were no longer concerned about my health. So I guess you could say I “faced up” to my au naturale appearance long ago, and have worn makeup every day since (unless I’m really crook in bed). The fact is I so look forward to transforming myself each morning, and I reckon it’s one of the most wonderful things about being a gal – viva la makeup 🙂
Haha here here darl 🙂
Lol Mel – someone’s gotta keep the beauty industry afloat…

Sometimes if I’m just at home for the day, I’ll go without makeup but if I leave the house, I will always put some makeup on. Even if it’s just my primer that evens out my skin tone and my concealer/highlighter to disguise my black circles.

hahah i always use the word Derro
This is what it says on urban dictionary about Derro/Dero:
Also spelt Derro, is a term for an extremely lower class no hoper. Especially those into underage smoking, wearing DADA or Adidas, Listens to Eminem and a stoner.
Basically the whole population of Kempsey, N.S.W Australia
Short for Derelict.Oh my gosh Kempsey, i went there two years ago and was petrified walking down the main street, what an eye opener. Never going back. .

I agree with Discomilk.
I never leave the house without make-up, even if it is just for a quick stop at the local shop. I feel naked without it on, i don’t have bad skin at all but i think it’s just more of a confidence thing. I always like to look my best, so i always wear it. But i will make the point that i don’t use my best make up to just go to the shops, but abit of foundation, mascara makes me feel my best.i think if i needed to BE out home more (as i used to ) then yes id war more makeup. so i think im in the same mindset , just on practical terms its become less feling needed.
but wherr you talk about just a personal standard or feeling , and confidence, that is sort of how i feel that i do it, with my heels haah.oh and since i ever came to aus, the bet word i EVER learnt
is
BOGAN.xoxox
lol hahaha, yeah bogan is like australias version of like ‘country bumpkin’ Plus, we use ‘bush wacker’ as well. I remember the other day at uni we had to play a word association game. So basically, we had to say the first thing that came to mind when we saw a word on the teachers powerpoint (we had to yell it out). ‘Australian’ popped up, and first thing that came to mind was ‘bogan’ as i was yelled out bogan like 7 others did at the same time! LOL maybe its a queensland thing, but they are everywhere.
Don’t worry I know bogan very well and I’m in Vic. I see many bogans around 😛
hahahah i am from Vic too and i totally agree with you.
