Lead in cosmetics

This was an interesting article from last year, and it dispelled some of the myths going around, like a hoax email. Lead traces are common in our environment and the real danger of these with cosmetics is that we may mix together too many sources and cause toxicity. So don’t be scared of buying products with trace lead in them (levels are low to meet WHO standards in Australia), but be careful using too many lead-containing products at once, particularly if you’re going to be in the city smog most days.

I very rarely wear lipstick so its not much of a bother to me but on the odd ccasion i do buy a new lipstick i buy organic make up none of the products are tested on animals and none of them contain say whale fat which some places still use to make lipstick.
For the people who dont like lipstick and prefer lip gloss there isnt so much of a worry barely any lipglosses contain any harmful chemicals this is probly not overly helpful to most as most people have a budget and organic makeup has a hefty price tag but going organic means less cloged pores less pimples and less imperfections in general
big thumbs up to the people who have already made the switch to organic makeup!!
    cheers xoxox

If there`re trace amounts in the first place, they wouldn`t be advertising them as `containing lead` now, would they? XD

That said, in the past people DID use quite a bit (i.e. poisonous amounts) of lead in their cosmetics. Ah, the cost of beauty and ignorance. XD

I remember the email that had been running around about lead in red lipstick. Gave me a real scare! I`d stay away from lead containing products anyway, just to be on the safe side.
