Just found out my grandad may have cancer again.

I am absolutely devastated.

My grandad is 70, and has already survived bowel cancer.

He had a health scare were he collapsed a few weeks ago, and for several days had a pulse of 50/40 (I think).

We just found out that he may have prostate cancer. He had some tests done, and they are going back for more biopsies thinking he may have prostate cancer.

It is so scary, and I am afraid this time he may not be so lucky. :'(

I’m a cancer nurse and my thoughts are with you.
Your grandad may get lucky and they’ve caught it early.
If it helps…..prostate cancer is one of the easier ones to treat.

    Fingers crossed for him

It’s so true what they say about cancer, how everyone knows somebody who has had cancer.

Very sorry to hear about everyone else who has lost someone they love to cancer too. It certainly is a terrible disease.

I’m so sorry to hear that D: My uncle recently passed away from liver cancer. My family is going through a tough time with people blaming others for his death even though it wasn’t their fault.

Again, i’m really sorry to hear that your grandad may have cancer again but then again, he MAY have cancer, it’s not certain. Keep your hopes high! I’ll be praying for him xoxo

Really sorry to hear that. I lost my grandpa to cancer and it was such a shock, because he was the healthiest man. He jogged every single day until he was admitted into hospital. This was more than a year ago, but at the time I have a terrible time dealing with it. The last time I visited his ashes I was still really sad and burst into tears. But I’m learning to deal with it as time goes on. Even more recently I learnt my mum had cancer. Thankfully it was a very slow growing and easily treated cancer but it’s still scary to think about it. She’s still going through treatments. I think the worst part isn’t her being ill, but watching her stress herself out. I think the most important thing to do in these situations is to try and keep them feeling positive, as difficult as it may be. Before my grandpa passed away, it almost seemed as if he had given up. Sometimes optimism and a will to live can go really far. Your mental health it seems really does affect your physical health

Really sorry to hear that BQ.
Just less than 2 months ago I lost my grandma who had been fighting cancer for 8 years already. Just 10 days later, my grandpa went too.
I really hope for the best for you and your grandpa, I can’t imagine how suspenseful it would feel waiting for the test results.

Totally can understand BQ I lost my nana last year and while she had been unwell for a while as soon as they mentioned cancer she was gone within weeks 🙁 Then not a month after putting my nan to rest my grandfather on the other side of the family was also given about 6 months to live, also cancer. He is a battler and has gotten to nearly 12 months now, but he really isn’t well and he is now in a nursing home as he is just too sick to look after himself 🙁 Thinking of you and your family during this sad time darl, its truly very very sad 🙁

Hoping like crazy it’s not cancer, but if it is…………….

it is going to be a long 3 weeks to get the tests and results back.
