IPL/Laser Hair Removal

I have been advised to steer clear of IPL hair removal because it isn’t as effective as a traditional laser , where the beam is much more concentrated hence giving greater hair reduction. Has anyone had great results with IPL? It seems most salons use it these days and I am curious as to why.

I had it done while living overseas, so I can`t give you a good estimate for it here in Aust, hopefully one of the other members can.

Hi Pretty in pink, I also have fair skin and dark hair and had IPL done about 2 years ago. It worked pretty well but I needed about 8 treatments, depending on the area. I can`t remember all the risks, but the salon should be able to tell you about those, maybe with a brochure. perhaps go and enquire at at aa salon before you do it. When I went, I had an initial free consultation and they patch tested an area on my leg to see if I would have any major negative reactions. For me, the area got red after treatment and stayed red for a few hours. But it was OK after that. Good luck.

Is there any risk involved?? I have fair skin and dark hair and would love to be hair free but feel a little bit concerned about letting someone at me with a laser.
