HELP!!! Ovarian Cyst……………………………..AM I GOING 2 DIE?

In the biginning of lst year i had a clear face than out of no where in about 2 months my whole cheeks and chin where coverd in pimples..it was embarrassing. In an MRI for something else they told me i had a very large ovarian cyst.
Did this cause my acne?

Anyway, i went to a dermatoligist and she subscribed anti biotics for 3 months and BP and all that…it has almost cleared my face but am left with scars and hyperpigmentation on my cheeks.
Impossible to remove!!!

A year later i noticed sometimes my periods skip a month, are late. Also in the middle of each month i alsways get tricked that i have just got my periods as there is a bit of blood.
SHOULD I BE WORRIED?

I went to the docter and told him (overall not a good docter but closest) and he said its alll fine unless your tring to have a baby or think your preg than i should be concerned.

So that was it .. no prescription or anything and i continually have late periods.

Am i meant to get some sort of treatment for Ovarian cysts and can they turn into OVARIAN CANCER?

I hope that what these lovely knowledgeable ladies have told you has made you feel at least slightly less upset about the whole situation, Mexox. Sorry to hear that you have this diagnosis, and I agree that you should see a specialist, darl, or at least a 2nd opinion. I believe your dr could have been a lot more thorough with his diagnosis.
    Take care 🙂

This reminds me that i had better go do my pap smear for this year. i know its supposedly to be once every 2 yrs, but i think its safer to go every year. i hope the ovarian cyst is not harmful and can be curable

can pap smears detect ovarian cysts?

My guess would be no. But an Ultrasound can pick them up.

I had an ovarian cyst when I was about 16. My doctor, who has been my doctor since I was a baby, said that if you dont get the cyst removed, they can actually grow hair and teeth. I would strongly suggest seeing another GP, but dont worry it cant turn into cancer. As you have said it can cause period problems and make you quite uncomfortable. They found mine because I was getting a lot of pain in my stomache. Goodluck I hope someone helps you.

i have border line ovarian cysts called polysistic ovaries, yeah its a pain but as long as you look after your health you will be fine, exercise as this condition puts on weight, im slim so i dont put it on plus im an exercise junkie. Anyway exercise, and cut down on junk food and sugar as this can make the problems worce, my sister has it severly and it has made her put heaps of weight on but she doesnt exercise so it has made her symptoms worce. Get a referal to see a gyno who is specialised in this field and he will direct you. But its a life style change also. its difficult to say if they will turn cancerous, i surely hope not, but it all depends on how you look after your self from now on. Goodluck babe.

That must have been a shock for you mexox when the doctor told you that news. I know nothing about ovarian cysts so all that I can do is offer you my support and let you know that I am here for you. It sounds like it is a common problem with women given the responses you have recieved and I am sure the ladies will be great help to you answering your questions. I would however get a second opinion and request a referral for a specialist. If you are not happy with the doctor then give him the flick and find another one who you can trust. Good luck with it all.
