Help Mom say no the other yes to makeup

We have two girls hitting the double digit figure on the say day they both reside on both sides of our families. When enquiring what they would like for their birthdays both asked for makeup.
Mom 1 says thats fine as long as it comes with a lesson in application and a lesson on skin maintenance.

Mom 2 is on my hubbies side and says no, no, positively no period! Knowing the other is allowed has dampened all hopes. Whilst we are not the parent and respect Mom 2 views, Dad is now involved and is against Moms decision.

What do you think is 10 too young to start wearing makeup or not?

I`m going to agree, and say lipgloss/balm should be the extent of it… My younger sister uses a face cleanser, which I think is great, but she won`t wear make-up.

Dress ups is a completely different story, and I think nearly every little girl starts that from much younger than ten! I have a 7 year old sister, who will ask me if she can go play with my makeup, and always emerges an hour later with her face COVERED in glitter, eyeshadow, lipstik, gloss, and anything else she can get her wee hands on. However, I would never DREAM of letting her wear makeup properly, not at least untill she`s 15.

Tell me about it! And like gem said, they have such perfect flawless skin at that age – would be such a shame to start clogging it up with unnecessary makeup!

Too young they have plenty of time for that. kids are losing their childhood way too early. mabye 13 but not 10. i know they won`t listen now but they will regret not making the most of their carefree life while it lasts.
