HELP! Apple cider vinegar caused DRY PATCHES!!!

Please help i don’t know what to do.
Ok.. i was doing the Apple cider vinegar program on my face to lighten up my hyperpigmentation and for a few days had been using 50/50 = half with water on my face … it help a bit.
THEN…

…i decided i wanted faster results so i deluted it less and i noticed as i was putting it on my skin turned red and a few tiny white bumps poped up in patches … i freaked and immeadiatly washed it off and added moisturiser.

The next day i woke up to find rough patches here and there on my face ..and when i try to cover my hyperpigmented face with makeup i can tell even more where these rough patches are and my other pices of skin is very oily …it doesn’t look good

HOW DO I FIX THIS ?

DO I EXFOLIATE?

I don’t think I’d be exfoliating or using anything else harsh on my face. It sounds like it needs some major TLC. I struggle with pigmentation problems and I use lightening/brightening/whitening products to try and help mine out. At the moment I’m using Medik8 White Balance Serum – it’s quite a nice oil serum that absorbs immediately and leaves no greasiness or shine. I’ve been using it for 5 days now and haven’t noticed anything yet but I will keep going with it and hopefully notice some changes soon.

ACV is somewhat acid so it can really burn your skin. just really be careful in applying it on your skin. my sister had genital warts also and she didn’t like that idea of burning her skin if she made a mistake. she just bought oxyfend cream. anyway, really be careful girls. ACV may indeed be effective but be aware of its pitfalls.

The only time I used ACV on my skin was when I had genital warts. It did remove the warts, but the warts came back. After that, I had to use Wartscide for a more permanent cure. I never had a recurrence ever since.

I sincerely hope your skin gets better, Mexox. Try to see the doctor if you can.

anything that claims to be whitening will target pigmentation otherwise almost every brand will have a cream/serum.
    Ultraceuticals even skin tone serum
theres a medik8 one that melmeko recommends but i cant remember what it is called
Priori targets pigmentation as does elizabeth ardens prevage or SKII (though they are all super pricey)
I think Olay total effects also targets pigmentation
Retinol is meant to help pigmentation (as well as acne) – if your pigmentation seriously concerns you get a prescription from a Dr for a retinol cream – they are fairly cheap – $30ish. The reason you need a prescription is that you cant use this whislt pregnant and there are other possible side effects so the dr will control what strength to start off with.

I’m sure the others could give you a million more suggestions

Acidic/alkaline it doesn’t really matter, the point is it’s so far from the ph of the skin unfortunately which is imo why this happened. Mexox- hopefully it’s all improving for you 🙂 why don’t you just get a skin cream for your pigmentation? There is so many good ones out there 🙂

Honestly, I’ve never heard of a skin cream for pigmentation … i’ll look into it..maybe search the web…

Hi Mexox, Im sorry but I dont have any advice for you but I just wanted to say that I hope your skin gets better soon. I can only imagine how painful it must have been. Weve all tried things before that we probably shouldnt have and as long as we learn not to do them again thats the main thing. I hope you feel better really soon and in the meantime remember that your friends at BH really care about you.

    Thanks Mollygirl, your too kind.

putting it on your hair & consuming it as an alkaline supplement is completely different to putting it on your skin

the reason why ACV is good to consume is because the body should “apparently” be 70% alkaline & all vinegars are very alkaline.

the reason why it isn’t good for your skin is because people do not dilute it to how it could be used less harmfully & then get incredibly irritated, atopic symptoms.. Hell, saline has clearing & antibacterial properties too but that doesnt mean you should mix some salt up 50/50 & put it on your skin.
    commmmon senseeeee pleaseeeeeeeeeeee

please MeXox just leave your skin alone, cleanse it with an emollient cleanser & use very hyrdating products until it has settled down. if it does not settle down within 24-48 hrs i would be at a pharmacy if i was you. 🙂 do you not use any products with fragrance, alcohol or anything with the word NEUTROGENA on it at least until it has calmed

vinegars are actually acids – acetic acid to be precise.
Vinegar is acidic in nature as it is a solution of acetic acid. The exact pH of vinegar depends upon how much acid is present, but most commercial distilled white vinegars contain 5-10% acetic acid and have a pH roughly around 2.40 – 3.40.

But you are right about consuming them to make your body more alkaline. I don’t know how it works but have read in the past that you drink lemon water to make your body more alkaline.

Thanks SO much for the info, i can’t imagine drinking diluted vinegar … i’ll be drinking lemon water from now on.
