harajuku lovers’ fragrance

so i was in Myer yesterday, and they were launching Gwen Stefani’s new fragrance line- Harajuku Lovers.

A short description:

“Love, a sensuous floral concocted by Yves Cassar and Pascal Gaurin of International Flavors & Fragrances, has top notes of sparkling bergamot, pink pomelo, peach and bamboo leaf mist; a heart of watery peony, living hydroponic lace rose, jasmine sambac, nectarine blossom, creamy paperwhites and Egyptian jasmine; and a drydown of petally ylang, creamy vanilla orchid, sensual musk and blond wood.

Lil’ Angel, a fruity floral by Givaudan’s Christophe Raynaud, has top notes of raspberry, cranberry, blackberry and pineapple; a heart of pear blossom, candied violet and sugared rose, and a drydown of lollipop accord, hinoki wood and crystal amber.

Music, a delicate floral by Honorine Blanc of Firmenich, has top notes of clementine and sparkling pear; a heart of jasmine sambac, sweet pea and honeysuckle, and a drydown of vanilla, skin musk and sleek woods.

Baby, a powdery musk by Firmenich’s Harry Fremont, has top notes of freesia, bergamot and white rose; a heart of orange flower, tiare flower and jasmine petals, and a drydown of white musk, soft woods, heliotrope, vanilla and violet.

G, a modern gourmand by Steve DeMarcado of Fragrance Resources, has top notes of crisp mandarin, fresh coconut and apple skin; a heart of jasmine sambac, soft freesia and magnolia vapor, and a drydown of coconut cream, white sandalwood and cottonwoods.”

I tried G on, and it’s a really sweet, floral one…but the bottles too cute (5 little doll things) that I bought a whole set!

I agree that it`s too expensive for 30ml… the bottle is cute, but tacky… they are supposed to be collectors items, hmmm.. not sure about that.

I have to agree they are `faddy` perfumes & probably more for the younger market & when I tried them they were nothing special, but the bottle are just so cute that I`ve requested one for my birthday, lol. I just can`t help myself! I doubt I`ll wear it much, maybe during the day on the weekend……. but it`ll look good on my dresser!

I love the sound of the scents.. in my head they smell so devine! [except baby, i hate powdery musk]
I like the sound of G for the coconut (hehe)
although its quite funny how descriptions of scents can be made to sound so beautiful, yet you get this weird concoction in return..

Have just seen some girls dressed up in these dolly outfits in Myer promoting the perfume. Well, i think it is all a bit too childish to my taste (My little daughter liked the bottles – will be too expensive for a toy, though LOL)

Yeah i agree music. I wasnt really going to buy it anyway, i`ve already just bought like two perfumes which were quite expensive. And i got two for my birthday a week or so back so i dont really need any more, was just interested. I don`t really like the look of the bottles anyway, after i saw a picture in the magazine i wasa bit put off! Lol.

SQ, if I were you I won`t bother buying the Harajuku lovers. I would spend my money on something that`s more classic, not faddy, and can be used on all occasions and at all time, something that you won`t be bored with after the novely runs out.

Well i dont have any money to spend on something that isnt exactly good quality for money, so it sort of is the be all and end all for me unfortunately! Lol.

Price isn`t the be all and end all. If the scent makes you feel good and helps make the occassion a good one…..why not flaunt it.
