I`d google hairdressing schools in Sydney and see what you come up with. The ones in Melbourne are great and usually offer services for a minimal charge and sometimes totally free!

my daughter was doing hair comp she love the buzz of it she came first for style /cut /colour she got heaps of awards and trophy and medals in the hunter { new castle } .

I did it when I was younger I love the excitement of wondering what they were going to come up with trying out new styles and colours, probably wouldn`t be game these days. I think if you asked around alot of apprentices are usually looking for people to work on.

In Victoria they offer free or cheap hair cuts & colours at the hair academy, located on Victoria street in the city.

At the Toni & Guy Academy (which is at their Paddington salon) you can book in with their students for very cheap (but not free) cuts and colours. There`s info on their website, or give them a call. And they`re not bad – I`ve done it a few times when my regular artists weren`t available, and apart from taking MUCH longer than usual, they were pretty good.
