hair loss?

hi ladies,
so just wondering how much hair falling out per day is “normal”… i’ve heard it was normal to lose about 50 hairs per day but that seems a lot? at the moment my hair seems to be falling out quite a lot, i’m not under any stress and haven’t been using anything new in it… so why do you think this could be and how do you prevent or reduce hair loss? i’m 19 y.o by the way. thanks girls! 🙂

i’ve had the same problem since i was about 15 but its pretty bad now, it doesnt seem fair i know people with worse eating habits than me but sitll have a nice full head of hair

only reasons i can think of are

    malnutrtion
damage from styling or hair colouring
maybe some sort of inherited gene?

all i can say is try to eat everything and exercise to improve blood circulation

Beef, chicken, fish, tofu, tempeh are all good sources as well, as are eggs and cheese. I used to be a vegetarian and my hair was at it’s all time thinnest back then. High blood sugar and hormones can also make hair a bit thinner but because you are so young they are probably not an issue. You might not be getting enough iron either, but you shouldn’t take supplements for that without seeing your doctor for a blood test. Hope these suggestions help a bit. It can take a while to build up the hair thickness again.

to be honest, i’ve been a bit slack with my eating habits as of late… it could be due to that. but i’m not much of a fan of lamb, where else can i get protein from?

Hi Msleo20, are you eating enough protein? Sometimes that can have an effect on your hair. Mine is a bit thin at the moment too but that’s because I have been really stressed and it falls out.
